6 The Christian Education Committee is holding a Sunday School Family potluck today following worship. All families are welcome to attend. There are activities for the children and the nursery will be open for the kids to play. The event starts at noon. Come join us! George Street Fellowship WKUM Baseball Day Saturday April 23, 2016 Join us for our annual Baseball Day in Toronto. So far I have 18 persons signed up but I am sure there are lots more that would like to attend. I have access to 40 tickets, to promote our WKUM Baseball Day. Take a moment now to make plans to see the Blue Jays play Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2016 against the Oakland Athletics, sponsored again by George Street Fellowship, for the whole church and their friends. Children 14 and under will be allowed to run the bases after the game. Arrangements will be similar to last year with seating in the non-alcoholic section (200 Level), along the third base line. Baseball ticket prices have increased and will be $34 each, including shipping and handling charges. Dinner reservations are confirmed at the Old Spaghetti Factory for 4:30 pm for a big spaghetti dinner (budget about $15-$20 for the meal.) It s best/cheapest to park across from the restaurant and then walk to the stadium. I will keep track of people who have extra car space and those who would like a ride, to help match them up. For more information or to reserve your tickets please contact John Enns Man Made Meals (aka Mennonite Men Can Cook) returns again on Fridays in February. Friday, February 12 th, 19 th and 26 th :00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This year, practice a sweet and savory dish in each lesson for delicious and nutritious home-made meals. Try out some baking and some creative ways to get more veggies into your diet. Health and Wellness is co-sponsoring the cost of the program this year making the cost only $25.00 per participant for the three sessions. 7 Lost and Found: Have you been wondering where you left your portable stereo system, or a laptop that you used to use? These are a few of the items that have been left at church over the years and recently found in cupboards, etc. Photos of the items are located on Bulletin Board # 4. YOUTH/ JUNIOR YOUTH/ YOUNG ADULTS Camp Subsidy forms. Camp subsidy forms are available for children registering for Mennonite camps this summer such as Silver Lake, Hidden Acres and Fraser Lake. All children are welcome to apply for subsidy and hand into the church office for review. The forms are located on the Camp bulletin board in the gym hallway. Wellness Circle: February 9 th from 1:30 2:30 p.m. Nordic Pole Walking with Ginger Quinn. An innovative and safe physical activity for strengthening muscles and bones. Nordic Pole Walking increases strength and endurance, a good fall-prevention activity. Put this one on your calendar! Community Health and Wellness Programs: Take Charge Programs a 6 week Self-Management Program for chronic illness like Diabetes, Arthritis, Depression. Focus on ways to manage stress and make healthier choices. Call Ext WIDER CHURCH AND COMMUNITY Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) Ontario continues to operate a donated furniture distribution depot in Elmira for new refugees. If you have good condition furniture to donate (no junk please), it can be dropped off at the MDS Furniture Depot at 6 Arthur Street, North in Elmira. New hours are Monday Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information on donating furniture please call If you would like to volunteer at the warehouse please call Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has been held from January 17 24, This year s theme is Called to proclaim the mighty acts of God based on 1 Peter 2:9.
