Live in peace with one another. 14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. Jesus says that God s Word is Himself-He is the Living Word, the Way, the Truth and the Life. His from the Pastor s Office presence and teaching have been transcribed into the Words of Scripture so that it s one of the ways we have access to Him. This written Word gives life to those who read it with open eyes, ears, and minds. Out of that blessed life flow rivers of living water. We would never want to deny anyone the opportunity to be touched or even bathed by those rivers of living water, so we proclaim it wherever God leads us to do so. In November, Lord willing, from the third to the twenty-first, I will be joining a group from our Federation, under the leadership of the Foreign Mission Board, to go and proclaim this Living Word, in Kenya. I do need to raise my own funds for the airfare ($1400), but, since this is not a vacation, but preaching and teaching work, the Foreign Mission Board will cover the rest of my trip. I think it s good how the Foreign Mission Board helps Pastors to go to various places where we have Churches to bring Biblical messages and teaching. There is a definite need for that type of ministry as well as for encouragement, prayer, and building of relationships. The leader of this trip is Foreign Mission Board member Greg Greve who has had much experience on mission trips. Also from the Youth Foreign Missions will be Julie Matson. Along with myself and the rest of the team-jon Salo from the Pike congregation in Minnesota, and youth participants David Simula from Michigan, Alethea Impola, and Chalize Matson both from Washington State. We would all appreciate your prayers. During the time I am away please contact the Board for assistance. I appreciate the attitude of our Board to further God s kingdom by being willing and approving to send me on this missionary journey. Preaching during the time I am away will be Brian Lunn (Nov 4, 11) and Ryan Kandoll (Nov 18). Their help allows our worship services to continue smoothly. The Pastors in Kenya appreciate the preaching and special teaching that the whole team provides as well as the youth appreciating the fun they have together while learning. Each day the team has devotions and encourages one another. We are planning to discuss this current book for probably for 2 to 3 more times, since there is much in it, and we don t want to rush through it. So far, when we met on Sunday, 9/23, we got into chapter 3, so there is plenty of time to read to prepare for our next meeting time in November. Regardless of what we have read, we have fascinating discussions. After this book is completed, we are planning to read about missionary George Müller of Bristol. Also, we space our meetings out about 2 months apart so that we have plenty of time. Often, there is a possibility of borrowing a book too. So, please consider joining us. 3 Hello friends! I have some big news: SOUTH AFRICA by nikgwen I'm going to YWAM in Worcester, South Africa for 3 months this fall to study the Bible. I know, it's pretty sudden. So here's the brief story. One day a few weeks ago, I was chatting with someone, and we started to talk about why I was in Ensenada right now, and I realized I didn't really know. I didn't feel like God was really calling me to any particular thing, and I didn't really feel passionate about much. It dawned on me that it is time for a change, a new season. To be clear, I will be returning to YWAM Ensenada after my school, at least that's what my plan is. I am very excited about this school! Let me tell you a little more about it. Here is the brief description from the base's website: This 12-week intensive course equips students with tools to study the Bible inductively following the steps of prayer, observation, interpretation, application and proclamation. Leaving behind preconceived ideas, students approach Scripture as detectives observing evidence that allows Scripture to speak to them, rather than imposing their ideas on the text. The really cool thing about this school is that there is also a creative element, which if you know me, I am all about art and creativity. This school is actually called the XBCC, and the X stands for express, explore, and experience, and the goal is to do just those things with the Bible. Guys, I am beyond excited for this journey. This feels like a dream fulfilled that I didn't even know I had. It's how I felt after I came to YWAM Ensenada 5 years ago for my DTS- traveling and missions wasn't really anything that I had ever wanted before, but once I took that leap that God was calling me to, it was more than I could have ever imagined or hoped for. That's what I believe this adventure will be for me. This year has been very difficult because of having to walk through my anxiety. It has revealed parts of me I hate and made me want to give up. But, truly, this struggle has made me so much braver and stronger. I have learned something really important: Fear cannot actually stop me from doing anything. So I'm going to keep running forward, not stopping for fear, but only to listen to His voice. I am still in need of funds! I have about half of the money raised of the $2800 total. So I titled this blog then Googled what the definition of cusp was. To be on the cusp means that you are between two states, or are about to be in a particular state. That s how I feel now. I left Mexi-home just 5 days ago but it might as well be 2 years for how different I feel. I was awake for about 2 straight days before I was able to rest my head and it was here in Worcester, South Africa. I feel alive and awake and ready. So, so ready. // So, here is a quick rundown of the events that have unfolded the last few days: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 TH 11:30 PDT- Said goodbye to my Mexi-home and Mexi-family Last date for three months 16:00 PDT- Arrived in Los Angeles and said goodbye to Davey B. 19:05 PDT- Goodbye America. Hello adventure. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH 15:00 CEST- Arrived in Frankfurt and spent the afternoon with a friend, Christine, in Frankfurt 22:00 CEST- Aufwiedersehen Germany!

7 Dear friend, maybe you have noticed that for longer time you didn't recieve a monthly update from us. The reason is that we decided to keep you informed through a facebook group. It helps us to give you immediate, short and actual prayer requests and also news from our lives and ministry. If you are not a part of that group, you can join here - D&D - Life on the hill However, we realize that some of you might prefer newsletters or don't use Facebook at all. That is why we are writing this update. To let you know what we have been up to past months. Summer season We started the summer with KECY (English evangelization camp). At our local KECY camp we had over 60 students who we could share gospel with. My great joy was to have girls from my small group there. I am praying that they will be rooted in local church and that they will make disciples. Daniel's role in this outreach ministry is that he oversees all the camps that are happening in Slovakia. He encourages Slovak team leaders, cares for US short term teams, prepares a training for them. So in July he spent most days and nights going from camp to camp to serve, train, care wherever needed. But the thing I love about Daniel the most is that even among caring for the leaders he always finds opportunities to talk to the new kids and share Christ with them. In August we also served at our local church youth group camp and then worked some on our house and took a vacation. Wedding season When I think about what important happend in our lives in past months, I have to mention two weddings. 1. Richard and Monika - I have led Monika since she was 12. Seeing her grow in faith, then finding a husband that loves the Lord is the biggest privilege. 2. Samuel an Natálka - Natálka was in the same small group as Monika. She is also very dear to my heart. She moved because of the college, but remained firm in her faith. And her husband ir reall God-sent.

We don't want it to be our nest or fortress, we know the house belongs to the Lord and we hope to be faithul stewards. If you could pray for people to experience God in our home, we would be very thankful. And if you ever come to Slovakia, you are welcomed to stay with us. We would love it.
