1 FOURTH QUARTER 2017 T H E BEAC ON A publication of Castle Rock Christian Fellowship Baptist Church MESSAGE FROM BISHOP S HEART Castle Rock, The last quarter of 2017 possessed a very encouraging amount of promise leading us into I have to share that as I pondered my goals for the new year, the one most important, is ministering to the men of our church. C-ROCK MISSION BUILDING STRONG SPIRITUAL FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD. I am requesting that all of us be in agreement for the brothers to grow spiritually, personally and in unity one with another. The outpowering of The Holy Spirit will be maximized only if we see the men desiring it first. The spiritual waters flow with force as I witness the responses of contrition, confession and repentance to the Gospel. In closing I have to acknowledge the elevation of Ownership demonstrated by so many of you in our Family of Faith. The Deaconess, Praise Dancers, Children s Ministers, Women s Ministry (D.O.V.), Ushers, Trustees, Ministers, and Beacon Staff. Let us do all that we can to work for our Lord and see the salvation of as many as we can. REMEMBER KEEP DREAMING, BECAUSE OUR GOD IS MANIFESTING DREAMS IN 2018! 2 THE BEACON Page 2 C-ROCK SPECIAL EVENTS BISHOP INSTALLATION FOR PASTOR JON! SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2017 We witnessed one of the most amazing experiences of Castle Rock history! The Holy Spirit moved mountains over, in order to lead the way for our Pastor. We were blessed to have Chief Apostle Bishop Jerry Brooks come all the way from Atlanta, Ga to do the honors. A vast amount of family and friends were there to witness an epic moment as our Pastor was installed as Bishop Jon Scott Harris. What an amazing celebration we had!! HARVEST CELEBRATION! ~ NOV. 4TH Dec. 31st New Years Eve Watch Night Service ACTS 2:17 MEMBER OF THE MONTH Brother Leonard Johnson has demonstrated his love and care for Castle Rock in various ways. He is always willing and able to assist the ministry in whatever area he is needed. He serves in our media and sound ministry during service on a weekly basis. He also was a huge help during the church renovations and he continues to be one of the elbows and muscles behind the repairs and upgrades of our church. We are so grateful for him and all he does for C-Rock!

3 FOURTH QUARTER 2017 Page 3 C-ROCK MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS Atlanta, GA October 26th - 30th For those of you who could not make it, Bishop preached a powerful message in Atlanta! The Holy Spirit was in our Bishop and he did not sit down until God said it was time to sit down. We were grateful to be invited to share the Word of God with the congregation. Thank you to Apostle Brooks & the Greater Community Baptist Church for showing Castle Rock such great hospitality. Dec 16th Christmas Party: The children, as well as adults, had a wonderful Christmas fellowship. We were truly blessed with plenty of food, candy, chips, drinks, and cakes. We played games and thanks to Bishop, we all had a part in singing his favorite Christmas song, The 12 Days of Christmas, although some of us could not get the words right! We had a spectacular night thanks to Sis. Kesha Bryant and all who helped her, you did an outstanding job! As the children fell asleep, we enjoyed watching The 10 Commandments. It was a great experience to see God s Word brought to life on-screen. It was memorable to share that time with other Christian sisters & brothers. (The movie is about 4 hours long so take a nap before watching it!) While in Atlanta, our Bishop and First Lady enjoyed a visit through Martin Luther King's home block, where they walked through Ebenezer Baptist Church, Freedom Hall, Fire Station No. 6 and the actual restored house where Dr. King was born. In the church they were blessed to hear Dr. King's actual sermon. Bishop was like a kid in a candy store! It was a surreal moment. December 24th Christmas Eve Breakfast & Christmas Carol Worship Service Nov. 18th Thanksgiving Basket Give - Away This year, we were able to bless over 50 families with all the fixings for a wonderful, festive, Thanksgiving dinner! We would like to thank our Daughters of Excellence young girls ministry and everyone who donated money, food and more importantly, your time that you gave, in order to assemble the Thanksgiving dinner baskets. Oh, what a joyous feeling it was to be able to bless those who were in need! C-Rock was the place to be Christmas Eve! Thank you to the Queen family, Mother Joy and all others who helped in making our Christmas Eve breakfast a success. After a delicious breakfast meal, the entire Castle Rock family was blessed through a musical and praise dance service that you didn't want to miss! We know Christmas is not the actual birthday of Christ, however it is the day that we celebrate His birth. We celebrate in the spirit of giving. In order to teach this to our C-Rock children, the adults all adopted one, two, or even three children to bless with gifts. No child went home empty-handed!
