16 Pastoral Excellence Network Tuesday, 15 August :00 pm 4:00 pm BJCC East Ballroom Justice and Peace in Palestine and Israel President Alyn E. Waller led a team to Palestine and Israel in February. Their Palestinian hosts, who live under occupation, helped the team to explore areas such issues as water, gender justice, climate, food security, education, justice systems and incarceration, and racism. A separate team accompanied NBCA President Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr. on a visit to the region hosted by a group that seeks to secure the support of Christians for US policies Israeli state. This conversation will share experiences and lead toward a position paper to encourage support for justice and peace in Palestine and Israel. Thursday, 17 August :00 pm 4:00 pm BJCC East Ballroom Missions and Ministry from Millennial Perspective Millennials were born roughly between late 1970s and They make up 25% of the US population, expend more than $1 trillion in discretionary disbursements, are likely to be early adopters of technologies, and desire to travel abroad. Some churches are reaching millennials effectively, but many are not. How churches address issues like vision and values, excellence and equality, culture and community and insularity and openness may impact the ability for pastors and congregations to connect successfully. Millennial pastoral leaders will coach and challenge us to imagine the possibilities for meaningful missions and ministry among millennial people. 16 Birmingham, Alabama
