1 DELMARVA-DC USA MISSIONS SEPTEMBER 2018 THE REACH Reaching People at their point of need A New Church Coming to Columbia, Maryland A NEW CHURCH COMING TO COLUMBIA, MARYLAND Stan Holder Administrative Bishop The Lisulo family is excited to announce their recent move to Columbia MD to plant E3 Church, a life-giving church launching in January Lisulo and Linda were born and bred in Zambia. They are blessed with 4 children. Both ordained in Church of God. The couple first came to USA in 1999 to study. From 2004 they served as missionaries with Church of God World Missions as Church planters and pioneered a successful church in South Africa. God is doing it again! Now we dream of another church where people will Encounter God through worship, Empower People to discover their purpose and live in a meaningful relationship with God and others, and Engage Community to Make a difference. Why Columbia? This will be the first Church of God USA Missions Reach Director congregation in Columbia MD. 74,000 out of 105, 000 population not affiliated with a church. 105, 567 College Students. And Columbia was ranked # 70 diverse city (USA) in Billy Humphrey Our Strategy! Build a team of Prayer Partners, a Launch team William A. 3 Summer Bond at Heritage Summer Bond at HCC is an annual church family "in-reach" event for all ages that occurs the first week of August. We consider it 3-days of fun and happiness shared as a church family with games, breakout groups, music, food and more! After a very scattered summer, we attempt to gather everyone together to intentionally bond. This was our tenth year!! We had over 200 in attendance each day. It is an excellent sample of our total active family members. But, a picture is indeed worth more than words... S T H G I HIGHL 3

6 Church Planters Gathering Report Saturday, August 25, 2018 was a very special day for Delmarva-DC Church Planters. Every six months the region sponsors the Church Planters Gathering to give instruction, inspiration and interaction to church planters. The August gathering was no exception. The day began with newly appointed Administrative Bishop, Stan Holder leading in a challenging devotion. Following a time of interaction and sharing with Pastors Chris Lockemy and Ryan Shawyer from their experiences as church planters and church revitalizers. Pastor Chris shared on Keeping the vision fresh! Pastor Ryan shared on Revitalizing the vision! The next church planters gathering is schedule for Saturday, February 23, 2019! All church planters and prospective church planters are urged to attend! Outreach Report Several churches reported outstanding results from the Back to Church emphasis on Sunday, September 16th. According to Outreach Magazine the average church participating in the Back to Church emphasis saw a 37% increase on Back to Church Sunday. Parkway Church of God in Salisbury, MD served over 1000 students and parents at the Wicomico Middle School, across the street from the church. Over the years Parkway has developed a very special relationship with the staff and students at the school. The school allowed the church to promote upcoming programs, such as Back to Church Sunday; and Pastor s new sermon series Dare to be Great!
