6 ABOUT TODAY S WORSHIP The Sanctuary flowers are given today with love in memory of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll Dunn by Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Jenkins, their children and granddaughter. We welcome Julia Ledford to our worship this morning. For many years Julia served on our ministry staff at HBBC. Julia has always been appreciated as a person of deep prayer. We are delighted to have her lead us in prayer again this morning. Our Brass Ensemble today includes Michael Mole, Lucy Austin, Mark Mabe, Dean Olah, and Richard Austin. We are grateful for their leadership in worship today. Mike Cogdill--Sabbatical Pastor Dr. Mike Cogdill is no stranger to HBBC. He is well-known by many in our congregation and has spoken numerous times at Family Night services in our church. Mike will serve as the Sabbatical Pastor for Dr. Hailey over the summer, and he will preach most of the Sundays from mid-june to late August. We are excited to have him in worship with us this morning and to have a chance after the service to say hello. Deacon Nomination Ballots Due today Please place your Deacon Nomination Ballots in the offering plate this morning, or in the ballot box outside of the church office. Nominations will be tallied after worship this morning. Baptism during worship next sunday One of the most beautiful moments in the life of a Christ follower is their baptism. As part of worship on Sunday, June 14, we would love to celebrate with any who would like to be baptized. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church, and one of the ministers will be happy to talk with you Hubert and Lola Ledford Mission Endowment Fund Requests If you would like to request funding for a 2016 mission project through the Ledford Missions Endowment Fund, please submit your proposal to the Ledford Missions Fund Council by July 31, The Council will review requests in August and bring recommendations for distribution of available funds at the congregation s September business meeting. This fund was established through a gift by the late Hubert F. Ledford, a longtime stalwart member of the congregation. To be eligible for funding, a project must conform to our congregation s definition of missions... the deliberate and diligent effort of the congregation, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to extend the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed to as many people as possible locally and throughout the world, both Christian and non-christian. Application forms are available at under Forms, or may be obtained from Christine Moore in the church office. Completed forms must be returned by July 31. Stop by the Parlor It s been hidden behind closed doors, but now the doors are open wide! Take a moment to stop in and enjoy this refreshed space. Linger awhile, meet a new friend, plan to have a meeting, enjoy a deep faith conversation, or just spend a few moments with God. All of these are great ways to use this renovated space. Thank you to Jay and Kitty Parker and the efforts of many others for making our parlor a space that will welcome all ages for years to come. Summer Family Fun Mystery Night: June 12, 6-8 pm Children s ministry invites you to saddle up yer horses and skedaddle on down for a rootin tootin mystery solvin good time! Our first family fun night of the summer will be a western themed mystery, with challenges, clues, characters and awesome fun. Come hungry for the best hot-diggity dogs and cowboy beans in the West! The event is $10 per family, and you can RSVP on our website!
