5 Welcome to Farragut Presbyterian Church! We are glad you have joined us for worship today. We are a diverse community of believers, called by God, graced by Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve God through worship in the Reformed tradition, compassionate service to all, and the nurturing of one another so as to grow in faith. Our guest pastor today is Reverend Ann Owens Brunger. Rev. Brunger is an honorably retired minister member of the Presbytery of East Tennessee who lives in Blount County. She has served churches in Maryville, South Knoxville, and LaFollette. A special welcome and thanks also to our guest organist today, Dr. Karen Ladd. Prior to retirement, Dr. Ladd enjoyed an outstanding career as church organist for Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, as well as, a music theory and musicology professor in the UT School of Music. Please give Reverend Brunger and Dr. Ladd a warm FPC welcome! 7 Class Room Topic Children Youth Adult Bible Study Class Monday Connection The Bible Jesus Read Education Wing Education Wing Sunday School 9:45 Pre-K and Elementary classes use Whirl, where children practice reading the Bible and discerning what God is saying to them thru a fun DVD enhanced curriculum. Youth use Connect, a quirky DVD series which launches students into discussions of reading the Bible from a Reformed perspective. Room A We use The Present Word, a booklet that provides a 1- page excerpt of the Bible and 3-4 pages of commentary each week. This quarter s theme is Creation: A Divine Cycle. We will use scripture from the Gospel of Luke, Psalms, and Galatians. Parlor Library This group is on holiday and will meet again on January 8 th. Based on the book by Philip Yancey, this video study examines the Old Testament and the scriptures that laid the foundation for everything Jesus said or did. Regular Worship Hours and all Sunday School classes will resume next Sunday, January 8, Worship starts at 8:30 and 11:00, with Sunday School at 9:45

8 New Zumba class: Zumba will now be offered on Wednesday afternoons at 3:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Grab your water bottle and join the fun with instructor Michelle Henry every week for classes at 9:00 and 3:45, Monday through Thursday. Taking down holiday decorations: Disassembly of the Christmas tree and manger scene will occur on Wednesday, January 4 at 10:00 for small items, and Friday, January 6 at 5:00 for larger items, tree and stable. Learn research-based driving strategies to help you stay safe behind the wheel. Plus, there are no tests to pass. This course will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 9:00 to 5:00 in the narthex.
