Take the time to have your blood pressure taken. It may save your life. Before & after worship service Had to fill this space August 1st There was a preacher who absolutely loved to play golf. But because of a busy schedule, he was having difficulty satisfying his passion. Finally, in desperation, he called in sick one Sunday morning and headed to the golf course instead of preaching. Two little angels were watching from a nearby treetop. As soon as the preacher teed off from hole No. 1, one of the angels swooped down, caught the ball in midair and dropped it in the cup for a hole-in-one. Why did you do that? asked the second angel thinking the preacher should be punished instead of rewarded for playing hooky. Who s he going tell? replied the first angel. I LL BE BACK LATER VICKY, I M GOING OUT TO BUILD SOME HUMILITY.

Ice Cream thank you. The 2010 Ice Cream Social Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everybody who gave of their time to make the social a success. To our bakers for all the wonderful cakes and pies. Your generosity was overwhelming. To those who donated the "necessary extras" including butter, pickles and ice. To those who stayed after church, came early and stayed late to set-up (and set-up again) and clean up. Many hands make light work. To those who helped get the food ready and serve our guests. To the youth who worked tirelessly keeping coffee pots filled and tables bussed. For the deliveries made to our shut-ins. They appreciated being remembered on that busy day. For all the guests who took a chance on the weather and came to enjoy all the wonderful food. "Thank you" is not enough to express our gratitude. God Bless You! Wendy Crary, Ryan & Amy Suemnicht A Wedding celebrated and a 30 th Anniversary Alana Winchel & Issac Knuth On July 17, 2010 And Congratulations Gary and Ann Krueger Who celebrated their 30 th Wedding Anniversary, July 26 th Blessings to the happy couples! 5 A note from Bonnie Haag COUNCIL CORNER Congratulations to Tammy Craker on her ordination. Her ordination service, which was held on July 21, was a wonderful service. It is an honor for St. Peter s to have another member become an ordained minister. This is our 4th member over the years to be ordained here and it is something many congregations never get to experience. At our last council meeting, we decided that we would collect free will offerings to be sent to Habitat for Humanity for the Baraboo project that was just completed. This will be done until the Sunday before the Baraboo Brat Sale in August. We will also be using some memorial money to replace the plywood sign that is quickly deteriorating below the hill and will be ordering the new hymnals. Our general fund balance is slowly decreasing and we are quite a bit behind budget but I guess that is to be expected with the economy the way it is. Hopefully, things will turn around for all of us so we can get back on track with our personal lives and our contributions to St. Peter s. We also discussed our library area and are looking for a few volunteers who would be willing to go through the books currently in the library and to reorganize our collection. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please let me know. There is a flyer on the bulletin board in the Narthex regarding the convocation of Lutheran Core and the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) which is being held at the end of August. There is a website listed if you are interested in this gathering, the resolutions they will be voting on, and many other things. They will be holding their elections, voting on resolutions, discussing their future, etc., at this meeting. Remember, any time you have questions or want to share your comments or concerns, feel free to contact me or any other council member. God s blessings, Bonnie Haag, President A Thank you from Pastor Tammy To my family at St Peter s Church, Thank you for all your help in making my ordination day such a blessing. I appreciate all you have done for me my entire life and I hope to make you proud in my ministry. Blessings, Tammy Tammy s address: tammy.craker@gmail.com
Now a Poem from Tammy s Dad. Tammy s Ordination Dear Lord, we come to you with thankful hearts, As one of our faithful St. Peter s members departs. It has been Tammy s decision To have the Lord lead her way; We applaud her commitment In every way. We cherish the St. Peter s members Who have been ordained in the past, Carl Stubenvoll, Jr., Arnold Elfers, and Harold Gluth was the last. Harold Gluth was ordained in 1948, 62 years ago; Tammy and Harold share the same Schroeder relation, is interesting to know. We pray you will bless Tammy s family members Who have stood by her side, May they continue to serve each other With joy and with pride. We ask God s blessings on your ministry In your new Faulkton, South Dakota, congregation; We are all very proud to say, She came from St. Peter s Loganville, congregation. By Roy Schroeder July 21, 2010

Ten things children should know about prayer (from Seeds for the Parish ) 1. Prayer is communication. It can be spoken or silent. It can be a song or a story. It can be a picture or a dance. 2. Prayer can be done as often as you like. Every day. Every hour. 3. Prayer can be done however you want. There s no right or wrong way to pray. 4. Prayer can be shared, but doesn t have to be. It can be done alone or with a favorite toy. It can be done with friends, family or pets. 5. Prayer can be done anywhere. It can be done in your room or at the kitchen table. It can be done out in your yard, at the park or even at the zoo. 6. Prayer can be done in any mood. You can be happy, sad, angry, scared or confused when you pray. 7. Prayer can be for yourself or someone else. If you know someone who could use a little help add them to your prayers. 8. Prayer doesn t need a certain structure, length or specific words. Whatever words you use, long or short, however your prayer comes out is fine. 9. Prayer doesn t need a special occasion. There are certain prayers appropriate to special occasions, but you don t need to wait for a special time to pray. 10. Prayer doesn t have to be a request. It can also be used to give thanks for what you have already received. Thank you is a perfect prayer. By: Susan Taylor Brown Our deepest sympathy to our Church family. Our Church family s loved ones. The family of Evelyn Lynch The family of Bud Steinhorst Thank you I would like to thank all for the many cards & prayers regarding my sister, Evelyn Lynch, as I travelled to Tennessee to be with her. And the comforting thoughts over her passing. Alva Schlieckau
Please pray for our volunteers Mission Trip to Nashville Flood Relief work (also Shower Trailer inspection ) this August. For details & questions, talk with Ron Kruse or Pastor. Heifer International is....an organization that helps to organize the purchase of animals, vegetation for 3 rd world countries. 11 Full of information KFC Where has the summer gone? I can t believe it s the first of August already. Which means Sunday School is fast approaching. It s happening.. The buzz of what will be the plans for the new Sunday School year. Well, what would Sunday School be without a Rally Day full of fun and games and food?!?! Mark your calendars. Sunday, September 12 th. The children will share a song during service and a potluck will follow. Rotation (verb / action word) meaning never the same, ever changing. That is what KFC is about. Every time your child comes to KFC, they are exposed to a different activity or angle as we share God s Word. AND We need YOU! Again, we will be needing shepherds for the children and leaders to lead the different workshops. Please, see me if you are interested. Also look for dates and times when we will meet to go over the lessons and assign the classes. Our First Rotation Meeting will be announced soon. All interested, please attend. The First Rotation will be the story about Creation, starting September 19 th thru October 17 th. The children will wrap up the rotation singing in church on October 17 th with a song. The Second Rotation will be about Noah and runs from October 24 th thru November 21 st. Again, the children will sing on November 21 st during service. You get the idea. I know that this will scare some of you We are also planning the next Christmas program. And like last year, we will be taking time during Sunday School starting November 28 th as well as a few other scheduled practices to gear up for Twas the Night Before a Christmas Musical. Other dates to remember: November 28, second grade students receive their bibles May 1, 2011 fifth grade students celebrate their First Communion May 15, 2011 Confirmation with the eight grade students May 22, 2011 Recognition of our graduates of the congregation. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Sue / See you soon! Sue Wobschall Sunday School Superintendent
