1 1 Bishop Danny Nelson 2 School of Ministry Schedule Leadership Summits Schedule BEYOND Family Foster Care Information Accelerant 4 Evangelism/World Missions Great Commission Meals Schedule 5 Women s Ministries Retreat 6 Archives Ministries 2018 March for Life 7 Pentecostals Pray Conference What a blessed time of the year! I believe that this is one of the most special Christmas seasons I ve ever experienced. And along with the enjoyment and anticipation of Christmas there is the reality that in exactly seven days we will be celebrating and anticipating the arrival of There are three thoughts that I want to give to you concerning the year we re concluding and the year we re anticipating My heart is filled with praise and thanksgiving for what has been a great year, personally and in our conference. I am extremely proud to be a part of the IPHC and more specifically a part of the N.C. IPHC. As always, I am proud to say that we have fantastic pastors, ministers and lay people in this conference. I believe the records will show growth (not just numerically) for this soon-to-be-ended year. I believe the eternal record will show that 2017 was a year of Kingdom expansion through the ministries of the NCIPHC. From Joshua 3:3 I draw my second thought; when you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall remove from your place, and go after it is almost finished and the record is eternal; now let s move ahead at the command of the Lord. I praise God for accomplishments of the past; yet I have no desire to rest on those accomplishments. They are for God s glory. The year 2018 represents a great challenge, yet God is already there and He commands, challenges and encourages us to go forward. 8 Prayer Corner New Assignments Open Churches Sanctity of Human Life Sunday Monday January 1, 2018 (New Year s Day) The third and final thought is found in the next verse (Joshua 3:4b): for you have not passed this way before. What lies ahead of us as individuals and as a conference is totally unknown and uncharted; there is so much potential for us, and it excites and challenges me. Jeremiah 29:11 addresses 2018 perfectly; I know the plans I have for you, plans of victory and accomplishment; a bright future and hope. WOW! How can we go awry when we follow God s leading into uncharted waters? He will not let us down! Monday January 15, 2018 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance)

4 CHAMPION CHURCH SECTION Each month we will highlight one of our church s ministry in the CHAMPION CHURCH section. This month we celebrate the ministry of Chadbourn PH Church. They are the number one church in NC Conference for the 2017 Global Outreach Offering with a record-breaking amount of $22,000! The majority of these funds were raised as a result of a walkathon that Pastor Donald Conway led. After going on a prayer walk the Lord challenged Pastor Donald to present this idea for raising money for the GO Offering. The Lord also reminded him of the many believers around the world who walk for miles to attend church events. Supporters sponsored him by the mile or with various donations for his 19-mile trek. Chadbourn PH Church is also making a difference locally. Since 2013, under Pastor Donald s leadership, Sunday morning worship attendance has doubled to an average of 300, 120 members have been received, and dozens of people have been saved and baptized. Pastor Donald s heart to be a community pastor and an outreach ministry through sports have been some primary ways the Chadbourn church is reaching its community. A commitment to an excellent worship experience with emphasis on quality music, sound preaching, and prayer for needs has also been key in their effectiveness. Thanks again to The Life Center Men s Ministry Team for their work on rebuilding the deck at the Brooks Missions Home. Al & Coli Argo are requesting funds to support Life Coffee House in Cebu, Philippines. Over the next 12 months, $18,000 is needed to keep this fruitful ministry going. Project number is 24019P. Coffee mugs are available for those who will commit to giving $10.00 monthly for one year ($120.00). Contact our office for more details. On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22, 1973, was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states.) Churches around the United States use the day to celebrate God s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage. Today, the third Sunday in January is recognized as the official Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (though some organizations use an alternate date to coincide with the anniversary of legalized abortion.). There are many ways you can get involved this winter in Sanctity of Human Life: -Make plans to recognize January 21st as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. For bulletin inserts, curriculum and more, visit -Join the IPHC at the National March for Life on Friday, January 19, For more information, visit The Royal Home Ministries will be hosting a bus trip to the National March for Life. It seems that on a regular basis, America is faced with tragic incidents such as what happened in Parkland, Florida last week. Emotions range from heartbrokenness, sadness, tears, hopelessness, to anger
