1 Carlie Young Hargis Fayetteville Observer, The (NC) November 1, 1996 FUQUAY-VARINA -- Carlie Young Hargis, 67, of Route 2, Box 60-B died Thursday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel in Coats by the Rev. Roland Byrd. Burial will be in St. Mary's Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Benson. Mr. Hargis is survived by two daughters, Sharlon Johnson of Fuquay-Varina and Gail Smith of Coats; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Dollie Ruth Dupree Hargis 01/15/2003 Dollie Dupree Hargis, 81, of Willow Spring died Monday. She was an active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church until she suffered a decline in health. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Hargis Sr.; brothers, Ervin and Haywood Dupree; a sister, Annie Dupree Dean; and a granddaughter, Angela Mashburn McLean. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina. Survivors include sons, Paul Hargis of the home, Donnie and wife Debbie of Angier, W.L. and wife Pat of Fuquay-Varina; a daughter, Pansy Smith and husband Johnny of Garner; grandchildren, Alan and Patti Hargis, April and Lewis Byrd, Annette and John Stover, Kenny and Katrina Smith, Randy and Allison Smith, Jami and Thad McLean and Sarah Honeycutt; and 10 great-grandchildren. Eula Norris Hargis 10/31/2005 Eula Norris Hargis, 82, of Smithfield died Saturday night, Oct. 29, 2005, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Harnett County to the late Calvin and Maggie Norris.

Genever Hargis Benson 01/05/2007 Genever Hargis Benson, 90, of U.S. 701 South, Four Oaks, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Smithfield Manor. She was born Sept. 22, 1916, to the late Oscar Bain and Millie Isabel Turner Hargis. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Piney Grove PFWB Church by the Rev. Floyd Turlington. Survivors include daughters, Betty Jean Baker of Four Oaks, Maxine Jones of Dunn and Gloria Thompson of Four Oaks; sons, David Earl Benson of Trinity, Robert Carl Benson of Archdale and Billy Wayne Benson of Middlesex; a sister-in-law, Mabel Parker of Benson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Minshew Funeral Home. Glenn Nelson Langdon 06/27/2008 Glenn Nelson Langdon, 69, of 871 N. Pleasant-Coates Road, Benson, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his home. He was born March 10, 1939, in Johnston County to the late Frank and Beatrice Hargis Langdon. He owned and operated Langdon's Garage. Mr. Langdon was a member of Barbourtown Church of God and served in the National Guard. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Barbourtown Church of God by the Rev. Billy Ballard. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Maxine McGee Langdon; a daughter, Sally L. Young of Benson; sons, Timmy Langdon of Benson, Sammy Langdon of Angier, Daniel Langdon of Benson and Kenneth Langdon of Benson; sisters, Sally Thomas of Benson and Lottie Hall of Dunn; and five grandchildren.

Surviving: daughters, Sheila Roberts and Denise Wooten, of Angier; sons, Glenn, Jerry and Ronnie Hargis, all of Angier; sisters, Callie Fish and Retha Arrington, both of Angier and Mavor Gregory of Buies Creek; brothers, Edison, Fred and Raeford Byrd, all of Angier; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mary Rebon Hargis Langdon 12/13/2006 Mary Rebon Hargis Langdon, 94, of Willow Spring died Monday, Dec. 11, She was born April 4, 1912, in Johnston County to the late John and Edith Godwin Hargis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Langdon; a grandson, Edsel Ty Langdon; and sisters, Onease H. Westbrook and Retha Hargis. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Steve Morris and Tim Bunn. Burial will follow at Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier. She was a native of Johnston County, a daughter of the late Frank and Della Andrews Honeycutt, and the widow of Russell Hargis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday from the chapel of Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens. Surviving: son, Steve Hargis of Smithfield; daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Four Oaks; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Westbrook is survived by three daughters, Arlene Cobb of Angier, Sandra Denning of Dunn and Celia Barbour of Benson; two sisters, Rebon Langdon of Willow Spring and Neta Byrd of Benson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Veron was born November 6, 1912 in Johnston County to the late Eason Barbour and Lenora Langdon Barbour. Graveside service 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2002 at St. Mary's Grove Church Cemetery, 7987 Raleigh Road, Benson, with Reverend Lloyd Hargis officiating. Surviving: daughter, Doris Woodard and her husband, Ray of Knightdale; grandchildren, Dale Woodard and his wife, Iris of Knightdale, Gayle W. Bowling and her husband, Randy of Knightdale; great-grandchildren, Sarah Woodard and Cheyenne Bowling; special devoted friend, Ruby S. Bailey and her family of Raleigh; two nieces and three nephews.

Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday March 28, at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Burial, Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina. Mr. Hargis was an active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. He was a man of God and loved his family and friends. Surviving: his loving wife of 59 years, Dolly Dupree Hargis; sons Paul of the home, W.L. and wife Pat of Fuquay-Varina, Donnie and wife Debbie of Angier and daughter, Pansy H. Smith and husband Johnny of Garner; seven grandchildren, Alan and Patti Hargis, April H. and Lewis Byrd, Kenny and Katrina Smith, Randy and Allison Smith, Jami and Thad McLean, Sarah Honeycutt, Annette and John Stover; seven great-grandchildren.
