1 The Messenger ROGERSVILLE U.M.C. 51 TURNER LINDSEY ROAD ROGERSVILLE, ALABAMA Jan.-Mar., 2018 Sherry, Kenley and I pray you had an amazing Christmas and you were INSIDE THIS ISSUE 2-4 Children 5-7 Lay Leadership 8-9 Budget 10 News 11 Groups 12 Ushers and News Calendars 16 BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES blessed during the celebration of the birth of our Savior. We stand now at the beginning of a new year. We are given another year, and more chances, to serve Christ and help make more disciples for Christ. We stand at the beginning of a new year looking back on the blessings of 2017, and looking forward to the many blessings God has in store for us in We have been blessed; and we live with the sure and certain knowledge God has many more blessings in store for us. While we never know what the future may hold, we do know that we face each day with Christ as our Lord and Savior. We know He died on the cross to save us from sin and being separated from God because of our sins. I am excited as I think of the new year. I am excited to see what the Dream Team will accomplish in the new year. I am excited about a new subdivision being built across the road from the church. I am excited as I see new families coming to church. I am excited about working with the new members of each team and committee. I am excited because I know God has great things planned for His church. I am excited because I see, every day, how God is using our church to change the lives of many people. Will anything go wrong during next year? Of course, it will. I am not so naive as to think there will be only glory and blessings. But I know whatever the new year may hold for our church and each of us we do not face it alone, we face all things with Christ at our side, holding our hands, and walking through all of life s hills and valleys with us. Come and join us during this new year. Come and join in all the great things Christ is doing in the church and in the world. God bless you. May you be blessed beyond believe in 2018 and may you know you never face the day alone, you face each day with Christ. Robert 1
