4 Alpha St. Gregory s Parish St. Gregory s Parish News I Loved Alpha.loved the togetherness, the camaraderie!!! Want to learn more about the Catholic Faith. Discovered a relationship with God through Jesus. Found a new Purpose for my Life!! These are just a few of the many great testimonials from the participants of St. Gregory s Alpha. Thank you to all those parishioners, friends, family and community members who participated in our recent Alpha program here at St. Gregory's church. It was a wonderful way to learn more about Jesus and build our relationship with God and others. Koodo s to the Alpha Team coordinators who planned and successfully executed this Evangelization program: Franca Rossi, Lynn Boivin, Patricia Michaud, Nancy Barbon, Carmelina Spry, Emanuel Castrejon, Brenda Caruso, Jose Temporao, & Maria Foglia. Also a big thank you to Mike Sicoli for heading up the cooking crew with Ida Caruso, Nella Nicoletta & Gilda Sicoli and Pierre Boivin & the clean-up crew; and we also wish to thank Anna Coccimiglio, the CWL and all the folks who so graciously baked desserts for all the Alpha meals. Dear Parishioners, It is a special joy to see young families taking part in the Mass and engaged in the life of the parish. We welcome crying babies! It is a sign that the church is young and alive. We have a very talented, caring and energetic team organizing Children s Liturgy program every Sunday. We encourage parents to bring your children to participate in Liturgy of the Word with children during our Sunday 11:00 a.m. Mass. Let us try our best to keep the gift of faith alive and active. CARETAKER/MAINTENANCE PERSON REQUIRED BY ST. GERARD MAJELLA CHURCH Applications are being accepted for a part-time caretaker/ maintenance person for St. Gerard Majella Church. This person would be responsible for duties related to the care, repair and maintenance of the church property, both inside and out. Some duties would include grass cutting, picking up litter from the property, snow removal from walkways, checking pews for repair, set-up/take down of tables & chairs in the parish hall for various functions, perform some minor electrical, carpentry & plumbing with qualifications and references to the parish office, 211 Pentagon Blvd. Or to gmajella@shaw.ca. 5 Renewing the Promise: Exploring the Critical Role of Catholic Education in Contemporary Society The Huron Superior Catholic District School Board is very pleased to support the Institute for Catholic education in gathering data with respect to Catholic education in Ontario. Renewing the Promise: Exploring the Critical Role of Catholic Education in Contemporary Society will help to better understand the ways in which Catholic Schools serve and support the mission of the church. You are asked to share your input through an online process called Thoughtexchange. All responses will be anonymous. When the survey closes, you will then be invited to look a second time at emerging themes and prioritize them. The collated results will be discussed in the fall of 2017 at the provincial symposium.
