Dear Parishioners, The negative news about the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania has certainly been disheartening.

Each week at Mass we together pray the Nicene Creed where we proclaim our faith in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

Our decision to be a Catholic is not based on the moral failings of any human being, no matter what title that person happens to have. Rather, it is based on Jesus himself.

5 Dear Parishioners, The negative news about the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania has certainly been disheartening. I think it challenges each person to evaluate their faith, their relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church. Each week at Mass we together pray the Nicene Creed where we proclaim our faith in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. The holiness of the Church comes not from human beings, but from Jesus Himself, who is the head of the body of Christ. Our decision to be a Catholic is not based on the moral failings of any human being, no matter what title that person happens to have. Rather, it is based on Jesus himself. The Chinese word for crisis signifies two words in English: danger and opportunity. Each person must make this time an opportunity to reevaluate why we belong to the Catholic Church and to recommit ourselves to what is truly important. The Church always had and will always have moral failings. If we leave due to those, we are missing out on what the Church is all about. Anchor yourself to a personal relationship with Jesus, his Word and his Church. Jesus asks of us to go and make disciples of all nations. When we live out his teachings, are formed by his Word and live a life of joy and faith in his Church, we become the change that needs to happen. Rev. David G.
