Call the Parish Office to register. Bulletin notices may be submitted to the Parish Office in writing by Friday a week prior to the Sunday bulletin when it will be posted. Please call the Parish Office to arrange a date and supply pertinent information. Individual Baptismal preparation is required. Sponsors: must receive from their respective Catholic pastors a sponsor certificate, which is the signed word of one priest to another that the proposed godparent is a Confirmed, fully-practicing Catholic who is qualified to be a godparent by living in harmony with our faith. Reconciliation: Saturday from 3:15PM to 3:40PM or call the rectory for an appointment. First Eucharist & Confirmation: Preparation two years prior to receiving each Sacrament is mandatory as a registered student in the Faith Formation Program. Matrimony: Couples are asked to consult with our priest at least six months in advance of the intended date to allow time for marriage preparation, including the Diocesan Program. Ministry to the Sick: Please notify us if someone you know is homebound and would like to be added to our Communion call list, or would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. Low gluten hosts available: Please let us know before Mass if you have a need to receive this type of host.

BAPTISM: On October 23, 2016 two new members received the Sacrament of Baptism. Welcome to the Parish Family: Avery Antonia Koster, and Oliver Daniel Luciano. We pray that Avery and Oliver will continue to grow in the love of Christ and the Church. Congratulations to the parents and godparents. Book of Remembrance: During the month of November the Book of Remembrance will be located in the Baptistery. All names entered in the book are remembered during the month of November. Names previously entered do not need to be entered again. Please enter the names of your loved ones who have recently passed away.

4 October 30, 2016 Youth Group Meeting: Sunday, October 30th from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the church hall. Family Life Meeting: Monday, November 7th at 7 :00 p.m. in the church hall. All are welcome! Confirmation I - Grade 8 students will meet in the church hall on October 30th & November 6th. Class begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by 9:30 a.m. Mass with their class. Confirmation II - Grade 9 Students will meet this Sunday, October 30th. Class begins in the church hall at 9:30 a.m. followed by 11:00 a.m. Mass. Next class is November 6th. Grades 6 & 7 attend the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, followed by class downstairs until 11:30 a.m. Grades 3, 4, & 5 Grades 1 & 2 4:30 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 4:30 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. PRESCHOOL PROGRAM Children age 3 years old to Kindergarten who are preregistered for the Preschool Program will come to the 9:30 a.m. Mass with their families. After receiving a blessing by the presiding priest, their teachers will take them downstairs for the program. Parents will then pick up their children downstairs after Mass. St. Vincent de Paul Annual Hat, Coat, Scarf and Mitten Collection This is the final weekend for the collection of hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, winter coats, and jackets (all sizes) for the needy. Donations can be new or gently used items. Please place the items in the bins located at the church entrances by November 1st. Lucky 50 Week Club Winner for October 30th is: Ronald Fontaine Congratulations, Ronald! Hurricane Matthew Collection - October 29-30, 2016 This weekend there will be a special collection for the people of the Church affected by Hurricane Matthew. These funds will be used to support the efforts of Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities USA in their long term efforts to restore communities after widespread destruction. Come, enter into the true spirit of Christmas, experience the Nativity story being portrayed through narration and traditional hymns. Refreshments will be served after in the church hall. All are welcome! St. Francis Parish will be forming an adult choir for Christmas. Rehearsal days and times are not set. 5 Parish and Diocesan Events FAITH FORMATION MINISTRY CONVENTION: On Saturday, November 5, 2016 the Diocesan Faith Formation Ministry Convention will be held at the Resort & Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis, MA. The day is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. with Registration/Coffee/Exhibits. Mass at 9 a.m. with Bishop Edgar M. DaCunha, S.D.V. Workshops will follow. Anyone can attend. For more information or to pre-register, please call Christine Patota in our parish office at Bishop da Cunha will lead a Holy Hour for Vocations Sunday, November 6th 3p.m. in St. Mary s Cathedral in Fall River. All are welcome! OPEN HOUSE: Bishop Stang, a Catholic high school in Dartmouth, MA, invites families of middle school-aged children to join them for a fun and informative Open House on Sunday, November 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Faculty and students will be available to highlight all that a Bishop Stang High School Catholic education has to offer. The 22nd Annual Fall Fundraising dinner event for The Foundation to Advance Catholic Education (FACE), formerly known as the St. Mary s Education Fund, will be held at White s of Westport on Thursday evening, November 17, The guest speaker for the evening will be Mother Dolores Hart, a Benedictine nun who began her career as a Hollywood actress. This dinner event will also mark the third year for Bishop dacunha. He will present the Timothy J. Cotter Friend of Catholic Education Award to longtime President of the Pawtucket Red Sox, Michael Tamburro, for his steadfast support for Catholic Education. Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) For you love all things that are and loathe nothing that you have made. Celebrate the love of God for us and for each other by strengthening, renewing and rekindling our marriages by participating in a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend.
