Holy Rosar y Review 3040 Walton Road Office: Plymouth Meeting, PA Fax: School Closing # 1385 Dear Parents and Guardians, Over the past month or so as I reflect on Christ completing His mission, I remembered mine. Over the past year, the faculty and I wrote a personal mission statement after going through several exercises. The premise is to develop a life purpose so we no longer go through every day without a plan and then get to the end wondering how we got there. We spend so much time chasing things- a great job, a great relationship, money, prestige, etc., that we often overlook what is happening today. What purpose do we have on this beautiful planet? Why are we here? For some, a look at the end of life helps with this process. When your family and friends gather for you eulogy, what would you like them to say about you? What will you be remembered for? A great way to begin the process is to make a list of everything that is important to you. From there, develop goals that align with those elements. Identify Influential people in your life- and list how and why they hold this prestigious spot in your heart and mind; Define what you want to be, and do, and have. Make as clear a list as you possibly can; Define your life roles- IE- mother, father, wife, husband, aunt, grandson, etc. Define who the key person is in each of those roles and what you would like them to say about you at the end. Use a chart to assist you. Role: Mother Key Person- a Son/ Daughter Then, write your Personal Mission Statement.. Ideally, this is a living document, one which you adapt, change, and grow with. Here is one way to do it I recognize that I have so much to be thankful for and need nothing more. I feel joy in my heart, peace in my life, and security of knowing I am loved. I see the beauty in nature, find solace in the ocean, & take time to celebrate the sunrise & sunset. I am blessed to know Jesus, called to share His story, and energized by the students I bring to Him. I delight in learning, am energized by teaching, and adore helping others better themselves. I am my best when surrounded by joy, love, peace, and laughter. Therefore, I will spend the beginning of each day in gratitude for my many blessings, I will share unbounding joy with everyone I meet, I will bring nature s beauty to the attention of those who forget to look, I will spread the word of God to all those willing to listen, I will applaud the efforts of others, My mom is.. I will pray for the grace to be what God has intended me to be. I wish you happiness on the journey and peace in its fruition! You will not be sorry! Peace, Lisa Hoban

2 Page 2 Did You Know... Mrs. Koneski/Mrs. Pickering-Kindergarten: The kindergarten are very excited about going on their class trip to the Please Touch Museum. It will be a fun filled day. They will soon be practicing for their Closing Ceremony which will take place on Wednesday evening, June 6th. They had a great year in Kindergarten! Mrs. Gilman 1st Grade: In Religion class we are learning that God's big Christian family is called the Church. We as baptized people belong to the Church. As part of our Social Studies and Religion units, we will each construct a large family tree poster to be hung in our hallway. Not only will we share our family with each other but we will also write and read a small paragraph describing one of our very special family traditions. In June, we will venture on one last field trip as we travel to the DaVinci Science Center in Allentown. Both first grades will spend an entire day exploring and discovering! It's been a great year in first grade and we all have a lot of great memories. Ms. Prieto 2nd Grade: It's the time of year when our second graders begin receiving their First Holy Communion. We are all very excited to celebrate! Ms. Elizalde ELA: 7th grade will be going to the federal courthouse to perform a literature mock trial for Jack London's "Call of the Wild." 8th grade will accompany them as jurors. They will also be given a tour of the federal building and probation office. Mrs. Luthy: 8th Grade Religion: Anyone who witnessed the Living Stations of the Cross, by our 8th grade prior to this glorious Easter Season, was treated to a wonderful rendition. This year's Stations took Jesus' Passion and Death into the modern world. In addition to their reverence, the portrayal made the viewer think deeply about Christ's last moments. 7th Grade Religion: The 7th grade created original,modern day parables in tech format, which they presented to their classmates. The parables conveyed the message in the original parables taught by Christ.
