He is a God who pursues the lost. He is a God who sends His Son into this world to seek and to save what is lost. He is a God who gives the Spirit of wisdom, power and love to fulfill his purposes of redeeming countless mul tudes from oppressive na ons in rebellion against God and from the oppression of sin and Satan in their own lives. And all that, which he did in and through his Son, he now con nues to do through us, his church, the body of Christ. In the following pages you will read brief summary statements of the ways we are involved with the global church bringing God s love to the na ons. In each of these rela onship-based commitments, we are both helping to love our brothers and sisters in their mes of great need, and in turn assis ng then in some small way as they carry that love to the those walking in darkness in their surrounding culture and communi es. The schools we support, the medical care we help provide, the church plan ng work we assist, the mutual training and learning we do with pastors interna onally all serve these dual purposes of bearing one another s burdens as God s people and equipping the church to show that love to the world. Many non-chris ans, whether Muslim, Animis c, Hindu, Buddhist or secular are recipients of medical care, educa on and food, and the offer of forgiveness of sins and restora on to God and each other, all given in the name and love of Jesus Christ, the Ruler of the kings of the earth. Through these words and acts of kindness the na ons are being discipled. All God asks of us, what he has chosen us for and called us to, is that we simply take our part however large or small that may seem to be, in the advance of his kingdom and salva on in this world. We are called upon to pray for the global church and to pray for the na ons. We are also called to share our resources whenever we can. Some are called to physically go and par cipate with our Missionary God by leaving their own homes and families for either short periods of me, or some mes for a life me. All we ask, is for you to read through and hear the stories of the movement of God among the na ons and that you keep your heart open to however the Spirit wants to lead you. We have no doubt he will be speaking and will lead you to par cipate in some way. Jesus says to all of us, As the Father has sent me, I am sending you (John 20:21). To follow the missionary God in his love for the world is all of our calling. It is a core part of what we were chosen for. What dignity, what honor, what privilege that we should be called the children of God. On behalf of the New City Missions Team, Barry Henning, Senior Pastor Mission statement New City Fellowship s missions teams exist to enable the members of NCF to partner with the global church for the advancement of the Gospel by preaching grace and doing jus ce in their local communi es and wherever called by God, and to par cipate in star ng new churches in the unreached communi es of the world. We will seek to obey this calling by: Developing rela onships with na onal pastors and churches in the countries to which God calls us through the growth and training of NCF mission teams who are commi ed to inves ng rela onally with local churches and pastors in a par cular country of the world and who will seek to find ways to mutually engage in sharing the Gospel through word and deed. We will be commi ed both to sending NCF teams on short-term missions trips and to bringing na onal pastors to St. Louis for our mutual instruc on and encouragement in the faith. Developing priority field focus for our missions programs through iden fying communi es in the world where we can have a focused, long-term investment, based on NCF congrega on and pastoral leadership commitment. We will especially seek to fund na onal leaders and partnership projects in these areas of the world. Suppor ng U.S. missionaries who will either help connect us to na onal churches with whom we can partner or engage in evangelism and church plan ng in unreached communi es by working through our denomina onal mission agency (Mission to the World) or like-minded non-denomina onal agencies to send NCF missionaries directly to the field. 2

Kingdom Restoration Society What is the Kingdom Restora on Society? The Kingdom Restora on Society (KRS) is an interna onal mission agency, headquartered at New City St Louis. In its local mission outreach, NCF operates on two levels that are o en interwoven, but s ll remain organiza onally dis nct from one another. There are things we do missionally in our own community that are more exclusively the work of New City Fellowship as a church and then there are areas of outreach that we do collec vely with groups of other Chris ans and other churches throughout the St Louis area. The same is true in our global mission work. We do U.S. mission work and partner with others to do global mission work. The venue for partnership locally is called Restore St Louis. The venue for partnership globally is The Kingdom Restora on Society (KRS). Last year nearly $400,000 in dona ons passed through this Mission Society. Those are all dona ons outside the NCF Missions Budget. The ac vi es of KRS include many of the ac vi es listed in our Missions brochure, but involve individuals and churches who want to partner with us in those fields of ministry without giving funds to New City Fellowship. The interna onal board of directors includes Macklann Basse (Togo), Leon Mukendi (D R Congo), Zam Khat Kham (Burma), Joe Muutuki (Nairobi), and Barry Henning (St Louis). At NCF St Louis we use KRS as the structure for sending our own short-term missionaries overseas, including Tim and Kathy Rice working in Vanga, Congo, and Daniel and April Murphree learning Burmese in Sea le as prepara on to move to Myanmar. The most recent change to the charter of KRS is that it is now func oning as an Ordina on Society which means New City St Louis, New City Lomé, New City Kinshasa, New City Nairobi and New City Burma can all ordain leaders and church planters for the gospel ministry. 4 Kinshasa,Congo $73,570 Congo is the largest area of mission ac vity for us as a church, both in terms of the numbers of ministries and the amount of support we send. The reasons for this level of par cipa on are rooted in the presence of a large, pro-ac ve Congolese community at our church. Pastor Leon Mukendi and other Congolese leaders in the New City community have constantly engaged us in the needs of their home country. Their family members, their connec ons to many churches in the Kinshasa area and their love and compassion for the people of their country who have suffered the devasta ng effects of long term war, corrupt dictatorships and prolonged economic and social collapse have moved many of them to make return trips, invest resources back in their communi es and lead the way in developing rela onships between their churches and New City. New City Fellowship of Kinshasa Pastor Leon and his wife Adolphine are returning to Congo this year to plant New City Fellowship - Kinshasa, with the mission of discipling the tribes and na ons in that community into the kingdom rule, reign and righteousness of God that comes through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Their commitment is to establish a church plant in the Mikondo district of Kinshasa that will, in turn, help teach addi onal pastors and church planters to develop and plant other like-minded churches. Strategic Commitments in the Mikondo-Kinshasa Context: They plan to house all ministries and the church plant at the C.E.F.O.R.E.A. compound, a 4-5 acre protected compound located 5 miles from the interna onal airport and just off the main Pastor Leon Mukendi highway. The compound has several exis ng structures including buildings for a school, a medical clinic, some housing units and space for a worship center. They hope to establish a worshipping church community that will become the hub of kingdom ministries, and to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a reconciled body of believers from all the tribes and na ons and socio-economic groups in Kinshasa who are doing Spirit-led deeds of jus ce and mercy. Pastoral training and Bible Ins tute - Staffed by local pastors as well as pastors and teachers connected with the Kingdom Restora on Society Good Samaritan Ministries (Restore Kinshasa) A group of outreach ministries commi ed to bringing God s jus ce and compassion to the poor in the Mikondo district of Kinshasa specifically in the areas of: Orphan Care - Operate a small orphanage on the CEFOREA compound for some of the many orphans in the surrounding community Daily programs for widows, single mothers, pros tutes and other abused young women Medical Clinic - Expand the current medical clinic, La Compassion, to provide services at the CEFOREA compound. This will service all the children and poor in the various ministries, as well as the community in general Nehemiah Projects - A mul -faceted job training program that will help equip many desperate young men with needed job skills in a country that currently has a 90% unemployment rate. Training may include areas like furniture making, automo ve repair, pain ng, welding, computers, sewing and landscaping Lamb of God Chris an High School - A high school that will provide a good Chris an educa on for children in the immediate community and serve as a school for secondary educa on for the 3 other affiliated Lamb of God primary schools in Kinshasa. We will also provide a daily breakfast and lunch program, as well as basic medical care Orphans at CEFOREA 4 F NCF K C R N, B H -., (314) ), L S. P -. ; (314)

VANGA,Congo $4,960 What does a village hospital with the barest of essen al materials, New City Fellowship, and St. Louis University have in common? Each needs the Almighty to work through them to make a difference in the world and Dr. Tim Rice works for them all! Kathy Rice RN, Tim Rice, MD and their youngest daughter Nancy moved to Vanga, Democra c Republic of Congo in 2015, to work in a small rural village hospital. Kathy was given the posi on as head of the Nursing School in Vanga, educa ng 300 of Congo's finest future nurses and midwives. Tim serves as the Chief of the Medical Staff of the 480-bed Vanga Evangelical Hospital and is also Director of the Family Medicine Residency program at the hospital. Together they want to see God raise up and train the next genera on of Congolese medical leaders to serve and disciple others in Congo. Tim, Kathy and Nancy Rice In addi on, they host short-term medical missions teams throughout the year to teach the nurses, medical students and residents in Vanga and to encourage the vision of serving the poor in low-resource se ngs. As director of the nursing school, Kathy collaborates with the Congolese teachers to train nurses. Nurses are able to evaluate and treat most common condi ons and are the key to providing quality care to the poor. Tim works with the hospital leadership and the other missionaries to provide care and search for ways to improve the func oning of the hospital in this very limited resource se ng. Prices for medical care here are low compared to America. For example a birth by C-sec on costs $150, but in Congo, that is more money then many people in this region earn selling their produce in three or four months. Each day the Rices are asked to pay for medical care for the most desperate pa ents. Thank you for your financial contribu on that in part helps provide assistance to pa ents with this type of need. 6 Northeast India $5,000 In January of 2014, we opened the New City Covenant Home Orphanage with Chris an School. We began with 14 orphans/ children from extreme poverty with an addi onal 6 children from the nearby village. This year we have 20 orphans and 42 children from the village. Our school is growing! Some of our children are from Hindu & Buddhist families but are learning the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Vision for our work, officially known as New City Fellowship Assam India Indigenous Missions (NCF- AIIM), is to do our part in bringing the Gospel through Chris an educa on, acts of kindness and mercy to all people, theological training, and church plan ng to the state of Assam India which is about the size of South Carolina, but with a popula on greater than that of Texas with 31+ million people (approx. 2% Chris an) in this local region. We hope to affect a small corner and then hope for that work to grow. Also, through NCF-AIIM we have entered into rela onship with a great leadership team consis ng of four closely connected local churches and pastors. If you would like to learn more about what we are doing, visit our website at with the password: KhargaBhai. To receive our NCF-AIIM Newsle er, Todd@NCFSTL.ORG. 7 Myanmar (Burma) NCF con nues to engage with pastoral development and evangelism in Myanmar. Pastor Zam Khat Kham has returned to Myanmar and has begun exploratory sessions to develop his Mission Training Ins tute with local community members and church elders in Kalay Myo. Although Kalay Myo is a remote city in northern Burma it is a strategic crossroads between many tribal groups. There has been much interest in these classes so far! Burma remains dominantly Buddhist and interfaith conflicts repeatedly arise between Buddhists, Muslims and Chris ans. Please pray for the reconcilia on of tribal groups within Chris an communi es and for gospel opportuni es to be voices of de-escala on. $11,920 Due to the transi ons in the country, infla on is rampant so orphan support remains cri cal. Please pray for the families taking care of the orphans; one caretaker in par cular has AIDS and doesn't have access to retro-viral medica on. We con nue to support 20 children at $100/child. Each child receives educa on and home care. Pastor Kham and his wife Lun Daniel and April Murphree (previously on staff at NCF South) became missionaries through the Kingdom Restora on Society in August of They began a two-year Burmese language program in Sea le in September, and plan to travel to Burma in the summer of 2016 for an intensive 7-week language course and visit our ministry partners. The Murphrees are preparing to move to Myanmar to assist the leaders of the local church and Pastor Kham's mission training school. Please pray for language acquisi on, prepara on for the field and con nued support raising. 8 New City Fellowship of Nairobi Kenya $23,040 Joe and Elfi Muutuki Planted by Joseph and Elfi Muutuki, New City Fellowship of Nairobi is a mul -cultural church that preaches the Gospel of grace and seeks to reconcile the na ve Kenyan and Asian Indian communi es. Joseph was a founding elder of New City Fellowship St. Louis. A er comple ng seminary and returning home to Nairobi, he was convicted by the Spirit to address the division between the na ve Kenyan and Asian Indian communi es. NCF Nairobi worships the Lord with songs in Gujara, Swahili and English. In addi on to mercy ministries, NCF Nairobi engages in several outreach ministries that seek to reconcile members of the Kenyan and Asian communi es. Overcomers by Grace Overcomers By Grace ministry was founded by Sha at and Sabia Khan in 1999 to reach out to people living with disabili es. OBG s mission is to empower people with disabili es with life skills in order for them to live meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives. Sixteen years into the ministry, OBG has ministered to more than 50 persons with disabili es and their families. Here are some highlights of the ministry from this year: Arshdeep Singh, 9, is a me culous boy who is speech challenged. Since joining OBG he has been learning to express himself verbally as well as carry out daily living skills such as feeding and using the washroom. He now writes and recognizes digits 1-6 and sounds A-B-C-D-E. This year his target is digits 7-10 and sounds F-J. Ian Limera, 6, joined OBG in May 2015; he is a hyperac ve child and has speech challenges but now he is se ling in well. During the school vaca ons in April, August and December of 2015, four OBG staff enhanced their skills and knowledge in developing student goals, careful handling of persons with disability and special educa on. Sha at Khan In the summer of 2015, OBG par cipated ac vely in Sports for Special Educa on Schools event organized by Oshwal Academy, a private school in Nairobi, Kenya. All OBG students par cipated in 80m run, 400 m relay, Fill-the-Bag Race and many others and won trophies. Ashdeep was the best par cipant from OBG. OBG con nues to educate churches on the issues of disability. Sha at has visited a number of churches including Presbyterian and Pentecostal congrega ons. With approximately 400,000 people in Nairobi city who have disabili es, the need is overwhelming. Therefore, OBG grasps every opportunity to look for partners and churches who will help grow the ministry. Students at Overcomers by Grace Students at Overcomers by Grace 8 T N, B H -. (314)

London $4,960 In 2005, Chris and Josephine Hatch, along with their daughter, Rahel (19) and son, Kaleb (15), moved from St. Louis to minister among the immigrant community in West London with Serge (formally World Harvest Mission). A er working for six years with a church in a Indian/Pakistani community, the Hatches made the transi on to plant a daughter church in the ethnically diverse Shepherd s Bush neighborhood which has significant groups of people from the Muslim world, sub-sahara Africa, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe. Chris, Rahel, Josephine and Kaleb Hatch In 2012, New City IPC (Interna onal Presbyterian Church) was established by God s grace. It is working to see the love and mercy of God expressed through verbal proclama on and prac cal deeds of service. With a mul -ethnic staff including Oong Lee, a Bri sh- Korean, New City conducts ministry to the homeless, various youth programs, bible studies and direct evangelism. New City is commi ed to developing future ministry servants from around the world (Korea, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, UK, US, and Germany thus far) through their year-long appren ceships and summer internships. 10 Togo $9,160 Macklann Basse, former pastor at NCF St. Louis in South City, graduated from Covenant Seminary in 2006 and was ordained at New City Fellowship St. Louis (PCA) in partnership with the Evangelical Togolese Presbyterian Church (EEPT). In 2010, Macklann and his wife Rose returned to their home country a er spending almost eight years in the United States. They returned to Lomé as missionaries with Presbytery Mission Interna onal to start Africa Missions with Na ons, a mission organiza on that trains future missionaries to plant churches and disciple Africans to care for the least among them. Now almost 6 years a er they ve returned to Togo, Macklann reflects, "God has been faithful since we started the ministry in Togo. He has protected us against physical sickness and real opposi on to the Gospel work. He has The Basse family provided financially and brought people around us to stand for His kingdom. He has blessed many lives in Togo through AMN ministries. We are not alone in this." The school and other ministries are flourishing, with about 130 elementary aged students, including some Muslim children. Through AMN's missionary training ins tute, Macklann is mee ng weekly with 20 adult students and is teaching them to share the Gospel and be missionaries in their city and villages. One missionary student came from Niger for extensive training with Macklann. Upon returning to Niger, he planted 15 rural churches throughout the countryside. Each August, AMN hosts a missions conference that encourages people to receive God's grace in Christ, share the Gospel in their par cular context, and prac ce jus ce for those who are oppressed or lowly. Macklann is also in the process of star ng a farming ministry in the north of Togo. This ministry would provide jobs and food for people who live in villages The work has kept Macklann and Rose busy as they share the Gospel of God's grace, disciple His sheep and care for the least. Macklann preaches at many local churches and speaks frequently on the radio. Macklann purposefully confronts the legalism and "prosperity Gospel" that is so prevalent in the culture with the grace of God and the call to lay down your life and follow Jesus. The demands can be overwhelming. The Basses are not able to help many people with basic needs like food. They o en have people knocking on their front gate asking for help with medical bills or clothes. Macklann laments that they were not able to help Sister Thereza, a close friend, raise the funds for the struggling orphanage she runs. The children sleep on the floor of the orphanage, which o en floods when it rains. Despite the humble circumstances, the Basses remain steadfast in God's work in Togo, because they know He remains steadfast in His commitment to them and to the lowly. Macklann cites Psalm 68:5 as a constant encouragement: "Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habita on." (ESV) As Macklann and Rose look to the future, they remain excited about the possibili es. The Basses' hope to focus on plan ng churches in the rural villages of Togo that will care for the poor and defend the widow and orphan. 11 Pakistan Sardar Din is one of the founding pastors of the Lahore Bible Believing Church Council, which is involved in pastoral training and church plan ng, as well as broadcas ng the gospel through a cable TV satellite system which reaches listeners in Lahore, Faisalabad and Islamabad. There are now sixty churches throughout Lahore and Islamabad that have been started by their graduates. In addi on, Sardar has helped establish a medical clinic in Lahore with a registered nurse and a medical doctor who see forty to fi y pa ents a day, six days a week. This clinic serves both Chris an and Muslim pa ents on the same basis. $6,000 In Pakistan, public schools are not an op on for most Chris an children. Chris ans are o en in midated and oppressed by the majority, Rev. Sardar and Anila Din treated as second-class ci zens and at best, passed over for services, and at worst, threatened, physically beaten, or some mes murdered. Calvin s Academy was founded in Lahore, Pakistan, by Pastor Sardar Din 20 years ago to address the educa onal needs of Chris an children. The four schools now provide educa on and nurture to over 2,200 students. Students at Calvin s Academy I P, M K (314) ;. 11

Zimbabwe $2,600 The Zimbabwe Team is linked with five churches in and around Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. In 2015, money was sent to help provide drought relief to 90 families in three rural churches. These families were ea ng one meal or less a day before the relief food came. Money for this relief food will run out in March Unfortunately, the needed rains s ll have not come so food security will con nue to be an issue. Please pray for God's provision for these families! In addi on to work with the rural churches, we support Happy Times Nursery in the city center helping to provide childcare and early educa on for street children. We also support Craig and Mell Jones who work with City Presbyterian in helping these five local churches. In February of 2016, a team from New City traveled to Zimbabwe. Part of the me was spent connec ng to three different rural churches in Na sa and the surrounding area, two of which have been planted in the last two years. These churches were planted in the face of drought, leadership difficul es, financial poverty and yet God has caused them to grow. In an extremely encouraging way, they were planted simply by God s call on the elders of the Mama church in Na sa who simply said, God wanted us to preach the Gospel in these villages. As a result of their walking (4 ½ hours one-way) they have Street vendors outside City Presbyterian church planted one church of 70 and another (2 hour walk) of 80. One of the churches is in the shadow of the largest shrines in Zimbabwe where people go to pray to their ancestors. A deacon of City Presbyterian in downtown Bulawayo has been visi ng these churches monthly for food distribu on and to help with a chicken project that is providing long-term relief and income genera on. Many of the families struggle with parents who have died of AIDS and also rela ves who have le the country to work in South Africa or Botswana. The NCF team also spent several hours mee ng with the leadership team of Entumbane Presbyterian (inner city Bulawayo). This is a congrega on of 110 people with 90% unemployment. The pastor is in a very difficult situa on and not receiving a full salary. Congrega on members provide food for each other and also look to people outside of the congrega on to provide food. They are struggling to see God s provision. In January, a significant por on of their roof blew off in a storm. Please pray the leaders of Entumbane would be encouraged to see how God has provided even in their need. Please pray for God s con nued provision for Entumbane and for wisdom as the churches work together on these issues. NCF team member Paul Pa erson visits Praise Happy Time nursery 12 C A S Z,.

Uganda $2,480 Ben and Kim Church and family moved from St. Louis in 2013 to join the Mission to the World (MTW) team based in Kampala, Uganda. They spent their first year at New Hope Uganda, a ministry to the fatherless that began in response to the loss of life in the Ugandan Bush War ( ), studying the local language and culture of central Uganda, and developing a rela onship with a local church Christ Centered Ministry. Two other important aspects of Ben s work have been assis ng refugees out of war-torn South Sudan to safety in Uganda and theological/bible training at Westminster Chris an Ins tute Uganda. The Churches are currently on Home Ministry Assignment and plan to return to Uganda in early 2017 to begin forming a team to plant a church. Christ-Centered Church Ben served for about a year and a half as part of the pastoral leadership of Christ Centered Church to help the congrega on develop in the areas of Biblical training and ministries of jus ce/mercy. He helped the pastors develop and go through a plan for expository preaching through two books of the Bible, and led the ministry leaders through a more focused course on biblical theology and Bible interpreta on. During this me, the church also increased its amount of care for widows and elderly in the community through regular visi ng, encouragement in the Scriptures and provision of basic life necessi es. Another team from the church planted a garden in order to supplement the church s resources and provide for others in need in the community. South Sudanese Refugees Over the last several years, MTW Uganda has developed a rela onship with some pastors and churches from the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan (PCSS). Since war broke out in South Sudan in December of 2013, many thousands of refugees have sought safety in Uganda and other countries of East Africa. Our team has been assis ng vulnerable internally displaced persons especially women, children and the elderly escape violence in South Sudan to refugee camps in Uganda. This effort has been through the leadership of pastors and members of the PCSS. We con nue to help provide funds for transpor ng refugees and have regular opportuni es to support the care of the vulnerable in Kiryandongo Refugee Se lement, as well as facilitate Bible training for pastors and leaders in the camp. Theological and Biblical Training MTW Uganda has partnered with Westminster Chris an Ins tute Uganda (formerly Westminster Theological College) for almost fi een years. Four of the MTW Uganda team (including Ben) regularly teach in the diploma and bachelors programs there, in addi on to a Ugandan faculty of about eight. The Ins tute provides much needed biblical and theological training for pastors and church leaders from many denomina ons throughout Uganda and East Africa. Church Plan ng The Churches returned to the U.S. in February 2016 in order to transi on to long-term status with MTW and to raise addi onal support for their next term in Uganda. Their focus will be to plant a church with a team of Ugandan co-workers whose goal is to become a worshiping community brought together by God s grace through Jesus Christ, disciple people in all areas of life, and inten onally care for the poor and oppressed. Ben will also con nue working with South Sudanese refugees and teaching at Westminster Ins tute. Pastors and some members of Christ Centered Church T U B C
