2 Diocesan Prayer Cycle JULY 2012 SUNDAY 1st Pentecost 5 (Trinity 4) Praise God for the month of JULY Proclaim as in Isaiah 48:17: You are Lord my God. Teach me for my own good. Lead me in the way I should go. Amen. Pray for all Clergy, Lay Pastors, Lay Readers, Parish Lay Leaders, & Evangelists: Pray for them as they lead worship, and in their roles as church leaders - bringing the love of Jesus to those around them, shepherding their church members. Let us together as in Exodus 17:11...lift up our Clergy & workers and cover them. Pray that all the Dioceses will be united and uphold one another in the unity of the Holy Spirit. TUESDAY 3rd Prayer of Confession: Proverbs 28:13 Whoever covers over his sins does not prosper. Whoever confesses and abandons them receives compassion. Confess your sins; Stating our sins and asking forgiveness! Psalm 48:14: This God is our God forever and ever. He will lead us from now to the end of time! Our Nation-Malaysia: pray - **for righteousness and justice to be the foundation of this nation **for the leadership (present & future) to understand signs of the time and know the best course for Malaysia to take, that the nation may progress, do justice and love mercy WEDNESDAY 4th Prayer of Thanksgiving: Matthew 11:25 I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from wise and intelligent people and revealing them to little children. General Elections: for fair and clean elections for rakyat to choose wisely, and vote responsibly. THURSDAY 19th Creation Care: Thank God for His goodness to us, and our delight with what He has created: Examine our own hearts and lifestyles. Pray for the 15 members who have been faithfully attending. Pray for the Rev. David Rajiah as he shares on the topic, Evangelism. SATURDAY 21st Children: Pray for the salvation of our children. Pray that from young they will accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Pray that our children will be protected and guided by the Holy Spirit. Pray for their studies and their future. Youths: Pray for them to excel in their studies. Pray for those looking for admission into colleges & universities. Pray that our young people will look up to God for the direction and leading and many will offer themselves to serve the Lord in the various ministries of the church. Young people seeking Life Partners: Pray for God to open the doors for their blessed and prosperous future. Pray for our young people to wait upon the Lord for their Life Partners. Pray that both will serve God. SUNDAY 22nd Pentecost 8 (Trinity 7) Church: We pray that the Church continue to fear the LORD, trust in Him, bless Him and praise Him for all His deeds Clergy & Ministers: Pray that God will fill them with grace, anointing and power so that they can preach His word boldly and with authority for the deliverance of those under the bondages of sin. Congregation: Pray that God will meet His people in the service through the Worship, Prayers, Bible Reading, Sermon and Communion. 7 MONDAY 23rd Migrants & Refugees in Malaysia: Pray that the authorities will not treat these Migrants with fear and doubt and suspicion, but with dignity, respect and love. Pray for the nation and the church to share of our abundance with them and to give witness of His love. Pray as in Leviticus 19:33-34, Do not do bad things to foreigners living in your country. 34 You must treat them the same as you treat your own citizens. Love them as you love yourselves. Remember, you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God! St. James Church, Batu Pahat: Thank God for the Children s Ministry ubder the leadership of Sis. Lim Yoon Siew. Pray for the 15 children who meet regularly. TUESDAY 24th Church: Pray that the church be not silent but be bold, compassionate, and to promptly act on all issues of justice, and be a transforming influence both within and without. That the church be a living witness to truth and freedom, to justice and peace, and to faithfully participate fully in the life of the community and to advocate boldly for all who are oppressed, vulnerable and poor as their acts of faith for the sake of God s glory and show love for Him. (24-7 Year of Prayer Booklet) Nurturing The Shoots: Pray that the Diocese will capture the Habakkuk s Vision as in Habakkuk 2:14 Then people everywhere will know about the Glory of the LORD. This news will spread just as water spreads out into the sea. WEDNESDAY 25th Church Leader and PCC member in our Diocese. Pray that God will use them for the building of His Kingdom and more souls will be harvested in the days to come. Church Leaders, both Pastoral and Lay, will grow in depth and maturity as true Shepherds of Christ. Pray that they will have a real hunger for God s Word, a firm commitment to God s truth and to live by it and the courage to teach the same to their flocks. Present generation of Leaders will strive to lay strong foundations for churches and gradually hand over the baton of leadership to younger people. Pray for encouraging messages be brought to the Chinese churches in our diocese, and for evangelism and church planting. Board of Bahasa M sia & Indigenous Work: Pray for the board members under the leadership of Rev George John. Board of Tamil Work: Pray for Rev Canon John Kennady and the committee Board of Iban Work: Pray for Rev. Iben Arang and the committee. FRIDAY 27th Training for the Ordained Ministry at Seminari Theoloji Malaysia. : Pray for the Lecturers specially Dss. Canon Margaret Chen, Rev. Dr. Tan Jin Huat, Rev. Dr. Paul Barker, Canon Steven Abbarow. Pray for the present student to be renewed and refreshed to serve our living God. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to bring more people from our churches to come into this ordained ministry.
