He said lthe popular minister "has always been ready to "help, counsel, pray for and pray with" churches in difficulty. Rev. Coy C. Privette, who followed the Rev. Mr. Hailey as pastor of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, said the scholarship fund will be developed over the years "and the more it grows the more we J can help students." The funds will be invested and the income will be used to provide scholarships for Gardner-Webb students from this area. Dr. Poston commended the North Kannapolis Men for taking this avenue to honor the Rev. Mr. Hailey, and pointed out that the tribute will be perpetual. The Gardner-Webb leader addressed the Brotherhood of the theme, "Daring to be Different."
