1 ~ f-~"a ~ Baptist Minister Dies Here The Rev. Rufus F. Potts, 47, pastor of Caraleigh Baptist coming to Raleigh and had also served Bannerville Baptist Friendship Baptist Church of Owensboro, Ky. He was also a past president of the Youngsville Lions Club. He was a graduate of Wake Forest College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary at Louisville, Ky., and had completed work for the Doctor of Theology degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest. Potts; three daughters, Margaret, Maurine and Vida Potts, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Potts Sr. of Dudley; one brother, J. M. Potts, Jr. of Dudley; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Casey of Burgaw, and Mrs. Viola Sutton of Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Caraleigh Baptist Church by the Rev. L. D. Holt, pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church, Dr. E. Norfleet Garner of Henderson and the Rev. Maurice Grissom of Lynchburg, Va. A second service will be conducted at 4 p.m. at Emamus Baptist Church in Dudley by the Rev. Eugene Roberts. Burial will be in Ernaus Baptist Church cemetery in Dudley.

3 Rites Scheduled For Rev. Potts Funeral services for Rev. Rufus F. Potts, 47, pastor of Caraleigh ~~ Church here, were to be cted today at 1 p.m. at the church. He died Friday. A second service was to be held at Emanus Baptist Church in Dudley. Burial was to be in the Emanus church cemetery. Rev. L. D. Holt, of Emanuel Baptist Church, Dr. E. Norfleet Garner of Henderson and Rev. Maurice Grissom of Lynchburg, Va. were to officiate at the Ra leigh service. Rev. Eugene Roberts was to officiate in Dudley. Rev. Mr. Potts was a grad uate of Wake Forest College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He had completed work for the Doctor of Theology degree at South eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. coming to Raleigh. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Juanita Elliot Potts; three daughters, Margaret, Maurine and Vida Potts, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Potts Sr. of Dudley; a brother, J. M. Mr. Potts had prepared himself carefully, never stopping the study process. A graduate of Wake Forest College and Southern Seminary, he completed all requirements for his Master of Theology Degree at Southeastern Baptist Seminary in the fall of 1964 and was to be graduated in ~lay, His thesis subject was "An Analysis of The First White House Conference On Aging And Its Implications For The Church." Mr. Potts was an ordinary pastor - ordinary in the sense that he was much like hundreds of other devoted men of God, content to labor daily, carefully and unspectacularly in the service of God and man. the Caraleigh Baptist Church, Raleigh, Youngsville Baptist Church, Barnesville Baptist Church, Norlina Baptist and \liddleburg Baptist churches in Korth Carolina. \\'hile a student at Southern Seminary he served as pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky. Mr. Potts is survived t Potts and three daughters of the home.
