The children really enjoy these stories, it makes us feel so pumped when we realize there is no one bigger than our GOD! This group of kids will talk about writing stories and the parts of a story. Also our manners unit continues with great practice happening every day! Tue/Thur Class We will find out how Jesus decided who his helpers would be. This lesson teaches us that we must put others before ourselves if we want to do what is right. The children will be watching for friends who need prayers this week, and we will pick a prayer partner to pray for. All of the classes will attempt to meet people around school and introduce themselves. Shaking hands, eye contact, and so much more! We will be talking about groundhogs as the big day approaches this Saturday. Will he see his shadow for the 3rd year in a row?? Calendars for February come home today! Have a wonderful week walking with Jesus, Mrs. Mullen Mrs. Paulsen's Room (Kindergarten) SUPERKIDS: This week, we will finish learning the letter Rr. We will also start our next unit. This unit will focus on the letter Nn. We will also be spending time this week working on distinguishing between d and b because this is a challenge for children. A great distinction between the two is where you start the letter when you write it. If you spend time writing at home, ask your child to show you the difference. CHRIST LIGHT: We will be learning two Bible stories again this week. Jesus Changes Water into Wine and Jesus and the Paralyzed Man. In both of these stories we see how He provided for His people on earth in miraculous ways. Bible Verse: Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Hymn of the Week: CWS 754 The Tree of Life MATH: Last week we introduced the card game war. It is a great game to practice number recognition. We will continue playing that this week and have a lot of discussion and fun with the number 100. Monday is the 100 th day of school! We are so excited! THEMES: This week we will be talking about light and shadows. This weekend is groundhogs day and that will be one of the things we talk about. We will also get the projector in our classroom and experiment with that and different objects and lights.
4 MORE: As many of you have seen, we are having Parent/Teacher conferences next week. There is a sign up sheet outside my classroom and I will send out a sign up genius. Please reserve a spot in one way or another. Conferences are a great way to catch up and get an update on your child! January Bookit!s will be due on Friday. I will be sending home new calendars that day as well. Thank you for putting in your January book orders. School gets free books when you order. I will be sending home a February order form this week. It will be due February 15 th. Thank you to those who came to sing on Sunday. The children sounded great! God s blessings on your week! Happy almost February! Mrs.Paulsen Mrs. Spreeman (Grade 1) Happy Monday and Happy 100th Day!! Zero the Hero blew in for the day to celebrate. It s his favorite day of the year. :). I hope you had fun making the 100 day displays. It s fun to see if 100 seems like a lot, or not. Thank you to those that could be there to sing yesterday. You all sang so well. What a great reminder for everyone that God is our Good Shepherd. It s interesting to see the effect the wind has on the temperature. Our mitten building experiment was fun and a great learning activity. Ask your child how his/her mitten turned out. Some children are going to try wearing their mitten out to recess. Our Bible lessons this week will teach us that God freely gives us salvation, and that we thank God for that by freely giving gifts to him. HOMEWORK MONDAY: read lesson 12B The Parable of the Vineyard Workers / wksht / memory Ephesians 2:8,9. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.
