Some of the robots bear the same names. :) We will continue learning about other continents and countries as we travel the world to gather the ingredients for our apple pie. (How To Make an Apple Pie and See the World) Last week we learned more about Italy how to count to ten in Italian, all about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum, Venice, and how to say hello in Italian. This week we will learn a little bit about Michelangelo and DaVinci. We will then head for our next country, France. Please send a little baggie with some dried pasta in it to go with our Italy study. Please write the name of the pasta on the baggie. Thank you! Our Bible lessons will be about King Hezekiah. We will learn how God answered Hezekiah s prayers and how he also answers our prayers. Each day we will practice for our play. No school on Friday. The other faculty members and I will be driving to Plymouth, NE for a day of learning with other teachers in the NE District. HOMEWORK MONDAY: read lesson 10A. / memory treasure: Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. Please return Book orders or order online code DWQ3M Have a great week walking with the Good Shepherd. Memory for Thursday is Matthew 22:37. Spelling: We are skipping ahead to a review unit. Pages are due on Thursday. Language: Today we took our test on the three verb tenses. Our new unit will be on writing a "How to" essay. AR: We should keep reading. Many of us have not reached 10 points; a number of us haven't gotten to 5 points. Reading (3/4): We have started our folktale, Lon Po Po. Ask us how it is the same and yet different from the traditional Red Riding Hood. BOOK REPORTS: Our last book report will be an oral presentation/commercial. We will put these on the first week of May. Reading (5/6): We will be starting a novel. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly." Col. 3:16 Mr. Brown's Classes (Grades 5 & 6) *Spring Play: We continue practicing in the gym this week! The goal is for students to have their lines memorized as soon as possible, if not already done. Please ask your children what their play is about and what their lines are and when they should be said! It s less than 2 weeks away! Look for information coming out this week about costumes! *As you may remember I was called by our Christian brothers and sisters at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church to be a teacher near Salt Lake City. I am thankful for the opportunity I have had to examine my service to the Lord and how my God-given gifts and abilities can be best used to serve in His kingdom. In case you haven t heard I have returned the call. I am glad to say that I am very confident that staying in Norfolk is the best way to serve the Lord at this time! Please join me in praying that God would continue to give me the ability, enthusiasm, and wisdom to continue to carry out my duties as a teacher here at St. Paul s for His glory. May God s blessing always rest upon the St. Paul s congregation of believers! *Memory Work = Matthew 7:15, Matthew 15:9 5-6 Spelling Unit 30 Review Week
