Infant and childcare (through preschool) are provided all morning in the nursery, the second room on the right through the door by the pulpit. Our good friend Rev. Karen V. Brown will preach and the Mt. Ararat Boys bluegrass band will provide the music for worship. Following worship, there will be a picnic lunch. She would appreciate cards; please send to the church office to be forwarded. If you are interested in helping out with childcare while Rosemary recovers, please speak to Robin Nemser. CARES CARES Food Pantry is currently running low on peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Place items in the baskets. On behalf of GEDCO CARES' clients, thank you for your continued outpouring of generosity. Shredding by Andre Andre Slacum is a Faith Church member who volunteers here at Faith; one of his favorite activities is shredding. He provides a service to Faith Church by offering his shredding services here at the church. Bring your sensitive documents to church and place them in the box in the workroom marked "Shredding for Andre" or give them to Robin Nemser. You will be helping Andre, and he will return the favor to you. Start purging those file drawers! Joys and Concerns may be written before the service in a special book in the narthex. The book will be brought to the minister before the prayer. 5 IPCS Update There's an old motto that the General Electric Company used to use in their better days, so we are borrowing it, thus 'Progress is our Most Important Product!' seems to lend itself well to where your IPSC finds itself to date! Yes, we DO have an approved candidate from Presbytery and we are in the process of arranging an initial interview via Skype on Tuesday evening, August 28th, to be followed up at our discretion with a 'live in-person session' on Labor Day, when everyone's summer vacation is finally in our rear view mirrors! AND the committee has delivered a second PIF, aka resume, to Presbytery for their approval, which, upon receipt will enable your IPSC an opportunity to compare two candidate's qualifications; and if comparable, then schedule an interview with a second Interim Pastor candidate whom we feel deserves our further attention. Perhaps there will be additional pastors who desire to be considered for our available position, and all those who apply will receive your committee's respectful attention, for our sole goal is to identify that person who, in our best objectivity, will be the ideal person to guide Faith Church through this transitional period that may well take one year to complete. As we've said previously, your patience is appreciated, and we are striving to accomplish our mission before Reverend Sutherland has completed his sermon series on Ezekiel, which he warned us last Sunday still has 41 chapters to go! 6 IN THE LOOP MINISTRY GROUP/APOSTLES/DISCIPLES PRESENTS FREE Youth Bar-B-Q AGES 6 TO 30 YEARS OLD (Youth 6 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult) Saturday, September 8 11 am to 5 pm Purpose: to bring the children, youth, and young adults from the Presbyterian churches together for a day filled with food, swimming, hiking, games, feeding of animals, and much, much, more! Please bring old tennis or water shoes to walk/swim in the stream PICNIC Location Woodberry Crossing 925 Stablersville Road Parkton, MD Take 83 north to exit 33. Turn RIGHT off the exit ramp onto York Rd. Turn LEFT onto Stablersville Rd Take the 2nd driveway on the RIGHT Follow the signs for Woodberry Crossing.
