1 HEBRON HERALD Volume 27, Issue 11 November 2018 Early Deadlines and Late Activities in November By Rev. Frank Wyche, Pastor Things will be busy at the beginning and at the end of November, with All Saints ; setting clocks back one hour for the end of light Saving Time; and the deadlines to order flowers and wreaths to decorate the Sanctuary for Advent and to turn in shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child all coming on the first weekend of the month! Sunday, Nov. 4, is the deadline for placing orders for poinsettias and wreaths to decorate the Sanctuary for Advent. The early deadline was set by our supplier. Order forms are in the Vestibules and on the table in the Session Room. Wreaths are $20 and poinsettias (red, white, or pink) are $6.20 each. For more information, contact Brenda Smiley. Nov. 4 is also the deadline to bring in shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (the Shoebox Project), the ministry of Samaritan s Purse for needy children around the world. Empty shoeboxes; labels identifying whether for boy or girl, and age group; and packing directions with a list of suggested gift items are on the table in the Session Room. The deadline is so early because the collection dates in our area are Nov , and the Nov. 4 deadline will give us time to finish packing any partially filled shoeboxes. Eastern Standard Time returns and light Savings Time ends on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2:00 a.m., so set your clocks back one hour ( spring forward, fall back ) when you go to bed Saturday night, Nov. 3.
