5 Reflections from Deacon Mike Stratman God Works In all Things "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:23 The apostle Paul had a difficult life. He was beaten, imprisoned, tortured and rejected by many. Through it all, however, he continued to tell others about what Jesus had done. Paul knew God was at work, transforming every circumstance into something that would give glory to God. When Paul spoke of those people whom God called for his purpose, Paul was talking about every person young and old alike who responds to the call of his or her heavenly Father. God promises to work only wonderful things in the lives of those who follow Him. The good that God worked in Paul's life, is not a promise of perfect happiness. It is a promise of eternal purpose. God will use the pain and the disappointment in your life and turn them into something beautiful, for example, heartache into strength, and sorrow into joy and so on. When you are facing difficult circumstances, remember that God is working to transform everything that happens to you, both good and bad, into something that will bring glory to God. Youth Ministry Corner Kate Grabowski, Sarah Lonneman, and Audrey Hodges will be getting Confirmed on Friday and have dedicated a week of their summer to come to Oklahoma to serve others! All three are South students and are involved in many different things! Audrey shows pigs at the county fair, Kate went to Poland last summer with Eva Kor, and Sarah is very involved with the Track team! We are very blessed to have them as a part of our team! THANK YOU On behalf of the Facilities Committee, I would like to say a huge thank you to all that participated in the annual Lou Seprodi Day on April 1, We were blessed to have a tremendous turnout this year and as a result we were able to scrub and polish the entire Church as well as accomplish some projects including: installing kneeler bumpers on all pews and removing the lattice on the wall in the courtyard. It is that time of year again for our annual Reverse Dinner Raffle at the Terre Haute Country Club. Festivities begin at 6:00 pm with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm and the raffle at 7:30 pm. The evening will conclude with the drawing for a brand new red Ford Focus SE from Marshall Ford. ENCOUNTER LENT Rice Bowls Will Be Collected The Sunday After Easter!! We prayed, fasted and gave alms and now we celebrate Easter joy! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters whom we have walked with in India, Zambia, El Salvador, Mexico, Ethiopia and Hawaii. And we commit to bring Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. Don t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl on the Sunday after Easter, April 23rd. At the Offertory during Mass, Fr. Dan will call everyone to bring their rice bowls forward and place them near the altar.
