We need volunteers to help with various jobs such as working in the kitchen, helping with registration, and helping clients carry food to their cars. Also, we need baked goods to serve. COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE AT SPENCER PARK: Help us end the Touch of Dutch Festival with a community worship service. This year s theme: O God Our Help in Ages Past; Our Hope for Years to Come. There will be no offering, but an opportunity is available to help fund the new Spencer Park playground equipment.

4 OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS Please continue to remember in prayer Bonnie Cambe Joe Steinke Ryan Meppelink Sharon Bovenkerk Thelma L Huillier received results from a recent biopsy which show she has lung cancer. She is awaiting additional testing to determine the best method of treatment. Nancy Bovenkerk will be having her CT scans this week. Please pray for a good report. Donna Ooms will have a hysterectomy this Tuesday at St. Anthony Medical Center. Marv & Ruth Peterson s brother-in-law, Ron Rader, has been diagnosed with melanoma cancer. He had a PET scan on Friday to help determine the best method of treatment. Please keep him in prayer. Jasper Brouwer remains in Cedar Creek nursing home in Lowell receiving physical therapy. WE EXPRESS sympathy to the Kevin & Carol DeFries family on the passing of Carol s father, Eugene Davis. Eugene went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 29. Services were held this past Saturday at Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte. May God give comfort during this difficult time. WE CONTINUE OUR search process for a Pastor of Youth and Worship. Please pray for our search team as they work through this process. 5 IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN, school is about to start! That means backpacks need to be bought, stuffed with food and delivered weekly. Sponsorships and donations are needed to enable us to address the needs of 48 students dealing with food insecurity. It costs $217 to sponsor one child for the entire year. The annual offering for the backpack ministry is scheduled for next week, August 13. Please consider sponsoring a child. Thank you for your generous support! AS PART OF THE Parking Lot Resurfacing Project, we will also be reconfiguring the south area. Our current storage garage is being taken down to allow for safer visibility, better drainage and an improved traffic flow. The deacons have removed and stored the necessary items (such as tables, chairs, etc.) that will be used for future uses. The remaining items are being offered to the congregation if you are interested. Anything left over will be disposed of. The garage is to be torn down sometime this month to prepare for the resurfacing which is scheduled to begin Monday, September 11 th. The Deacons WE HAVE SCHEDULED a second offering to be taken on August 20th. The funds collected will be designated for the Parking Lot Project which is set to begin in mid-september. Also, we have been approached by several members about better availability of their funds "at a later date".
