1 Sharing God s Blessing During this fall 2016 year, we have been discussing how God has blessed us through Jesus Christ. In turn, we are called to share some of God s blessings with others through our Church- First United Methodist of Titusville. Much of our generosity is seen in the following Bible verses: Proverbs 22:9 Those who are generous are blessed and 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. (NRSV) In her article, Count Your Blessings Julia Wallace tells us how we can be a part of God s Thanksgiving blessings: Take a moment and count your blessings. The changing leaves show us the splendor of God's creation; the season of Thanksgiving reminds us of family, and the harvest reminds us that God provides for our needs. Fill in the blanks in the acrostic (THANKSGIVING) below with words that express your feelings about God, this past year, and the opportunity to serve God. Reflect on each line silently. What do the words and letters bring to your mind? Once you complete the activity, find a way to share it with others. Thank you God, for. It's amazing How you provide. And each day, I see. IN this moment, I am reminded that. The Knowledge that you love me helps me. I am Surrounded by people who. Oh God,. In your grace, I can. EVerything I do. I pray for. I Need your guidance to. Give me this day an opportunity to. (Julia Wallace is the director of small-membership church ministries for the General Board of Discipleship.) Finally, this year s Sharing God s Blessings Stewardship of Life Campaign has challenged us through weekly laity moment messages to count our blessings and make an Estimate of Giving pledge in order to help underwrite the 2017 operating budget of your church. I hope that you will prayerfully join my family and me as we share part of our blessings. Blessed to Be Your Florida Pastor, Fred Ball Page One

Disaster Relief For Recent Hurricane Matthew Damage Have you wondered what can we do to help victims of Hurricane Matthew and the disaster it caused in Haiti as well as the US? The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) brings God s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by war, conflict or natural disaster. UMCOR provides humanitarian relief and disaster response to people in more than 80 countries, including the United States. After the flood waters have receded, wounds have been tended, basic needs met, and the world's attention has faded, The United Methodist Church continues to be present by providing ongoing assistance. UMCOR provides survivors not only temporary relief, but also long-term education, training, and support. While UMCOR cooperates with other aid organizations, the most important partners in the work of recovery are those being served. UMCOR is currently engaged in relief efforts in Haiti, the Bahamas and the southeastern United States from devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew. To help you can: Pray for the victims of Hurricane Matthew Give to UMCOR Page Four Page Five
