A time for kids to receive a Bible lesson on their level. Before the sermon kids are invited to meet in the back of the Sanctuary to join a PowerUp leader and return near the end of the service. Please fill out a registration card (located in the pew rack in front of you and have your child bring the card to PowerUp. Cry Room located to the left of the Sanctuary entrance. A place to view and hear the worship service while allowing for more activity for the kids. Activity Table materials for kids to use during the worship service. Save us, we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We bless you from the house of the LORD. Confession and Absolution Let us make confession of our sins to God, our gracious heavenly Father. Eternal God, we confess that we are sinners in need of forgiveness. By nature we are sinful from the very beginning of our life. Through our thoughts, words, and deeds, we continually sin against You. We have lived for ourselves in many ways, breaking Your commands that direct us not to lie, steal, or transgress Your holy will. We have walked in the darkness of bad choices and have left unfulfilled opportunities to do good and be blessings to others. O God, in Your mercy, forgive our sin and free us from selfishness and indifference, that we may joyfully follow Your will and gladly obey Your commandments. Graciously forgive our sins and direct us in ways of compassion and love. God promises to hear those who turn to Him with repentant hearts. Upon this your confession, in the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ, and by His authority, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 12 The Divine Service Welcome to the Divine Service. We rejoice that in this service God comes to us and serves us through His Word and the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord s Supper. With great joy we receive the blessings of God in Christ Jesus. Word of God We are thankful that God speaks and works through His Word. As we hear the Word of God preached we welcome the Holy Spirit convicting us of our sin and celebrate that He also forgives us, through the Gospel. The Gospel is the good news that God has reconciled us to Himself through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. As we hear God s Word, He gives faith to repent and believe the Gospel. Baptism We are thankful that God through the waters of baptism continues to create faith and deliver eternity to people of all ages. We believe that Jesus invites all people and ages to the waters of Baptism to receive the gift of eternal life through God s imparting faith and the forgiveness of sins in Baptism. The Holy Spirit works this through the power of the Word, in the water, with the promise of forgiveness that Jesus gives. This is one way the full work of the cross is delivered into your life, in the present. The Lord s Supper We are thankful that in the Lord s Supper, God delivers to you the real body and blood of Jesus in, with, and under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of your sins and strengthening of your faith. The Lord s Supper is another way that Jesus full atoning work is given to you, in the present. As scripture teaches us, there is a worthy and unworthy eating of the Lord s Supper. When taken worthily it is to our eternal good. When taken unworthily we receive divine judgment. Out of love we invite those to the Lord s Supper who have been baptized and received instruction in the Lutheran understanding of faith through Confirmation or our New Members Class. Out of love we ask that those in need of baptism or instruction to speak with a pastor before participating in the Lord s Supper. Everyone is welcome to join us at the Lord s Table to receive a blessing. Simply cross your arms on your chest to indicate you would like to receive a blessing. We worship with joy in the truth that God continues to visit His people through these means for their spiritual and eternal good. You are invited to listen, receive, and rejoice in God s perfect work on your behalf. We enter His house with thanksgiving and praise, and we leave renewed and cleansed in the forgiveness of sins granted to us.

13 The image of the mountain within the OSL Logo depicts the journey on which we have been invited by Jesus, starting the moment of our salvation and continuing to our final day on earth, or when He returns in glory. The mountain can remind us of the adventure of following Jesus to those places He takes us, the various people we will encounter along the way, and the many opportunities OSL offers us to invigorate us while on our journey.
