5 From the Pulpit Nominating/Search Committee The Pulpit Nominating Committee convened on June 5 th and we have met nine times to date. We have authored a Church Profile Form and a job description for Liberty s senior pastor; both documents are posted on the PCA website. We are reviewing Ministerial Data Forms (MDF s) and resumes of multiple candidates. Each committee member reads each applicant s MDF and resume consisting of approximately 10 pages in addition to listening to an average of 6 sermons per week from multiple candidates. The PNC continues to request your prayers for focus, wisdom and discernment as we deliberate on each candidate s application and seek the Lord s guidance for Liberty s next senior pastor. Photos for the Directory If you would like to submit a family photo for the directory, please send it to Mary Jordan at jjjjord@verizon.net (or give it to her in person) by the end of August with $10 in cash or a check made out to the church. Please do not send your photos to the church office. Liberty PCA's Annual Labor Day Church Picnic Tickets for the he Labor Day Picnic, scheduled for Monday, September 4th, are available for purchase after the service. First to buy will be the first to be served. Children s and Adult s Sunday School There will be no Sunday School on Sunday, September 3rd because of the holiday weekend. New and continuing classes will resume on September 10. Ladies Thursday Night Bible Study ALL women ( young and not-so) are invited to join us. Our study: New Testament women, entitled, Live out His Love, by Melanie Newton. We will begin on Thursday, September 7 at 7:00 pm. Please come, and, invite a friend. Please RSVP by September 1st and direct any questions to Peggy Walker, Debbie Reiblich or Jackie Fuhrer Request from the Deacons The Deacons encourage Carroll County residents to donate one or both of your landfill coupons that came with your property tax bill this month. The coupons offset dump fees for LCS and the church. Please put them in a marked envelope that can be given to any deacon, usher or left in the church office. Thank You!

6 Volunteers Needed for Counting Teams Volunteers for the counting teams are needed. Counting team members are on duty for one month, then off for 2 or 3. Counting the offering usually takes an hour or more. Depending on the team, it may be done immediately after worship, or early that week. Please contact Brian Moran if you are interested. Food Pantry Needs The food pantry is in need of the following items: Pasta, pasta sauce, paper towels, and Kleenex. Homeschoolers - All who do or are considering Liberty maintains a resource room for you. We have books about homeschooling, support books on each subject and actual curriculum. It is open to all at Liberty, not just those under our umbrella group, LHIF. It is in the back of the Old Sanctuary in the same room as the Pantry. Come and explore the library. Liberty also has an diploma granting umbrella group- Liberty Home Instructional Fellowship (LHIF). If LHIF can help you, or for any questions, see Becky Goedeke (If there is an interest we can also arrange our own curriculum "fair" where those who homeschool can share/buy curriculum from each other. Please express any such interest to Becky.) Pioneer Girls Calling all girls, grades 1-7. COME!!! Have Fun!!! Pioneer Girls Club will begin meeting on Wed. Sep. 6th at 7-8:30pm. We will start our year with an Ice Cream Social, games and answered questions. This is open to all, even if you don't know you want to stay and feel free to bring younger siblings if you want. Pioneer Girls is calling women and (yes) men to come and help. We need assistant leaders and those willing to share a skill, hobby or passion with the girls. Your commitment can be as little as one Wednesday night or you are welcome to help for the school year. Please consider us as our workers are few. Contact Becky Goedeke Kids' Club Pastor Nick, Denise Madden, and some Christian neighbors are hosting a Kids' Club in their neighborhood park on Tuesday nights from 7-8 pm this summer. We will be playing a game, singing some songs, hearing a Bible story, sometimes making a craft, and having a snack. Kids' Club will take place in the center circle park. Entrance is along the pathway, off the sidewalk, two doors down from the Madden's house: 1583 Brimfield Circle Sykesville, MD Open to elementary and younger aged children.

7 Youth Announcements Summer Calendar August Wednesday, August 23: Delaware Seashores State Park $5 The summer youth schedule Youth Group is on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm. Thanks Liberty Family, We want to thank you for the care given to our family with Julie being off her feet. We are now into week 13, and though hard to believe, she is behaving and following doctor s orders! We hope that she is up and walking by the end of September with therapy ending in October. Thank you for the delicious meals, the visits, the cards and most of all the prayers and encouragement. This event has not been easy on our family and we are so grateful to our church family for the support. Love in Christ, Tommy, Julie and the boys From the Westminster Rescue Mission Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Thank you so much for your faithful and generous support. Through you, God is changing the lives of the men in our recovery program. And He is providing sustenance for those who often struggle to have enough food. Praising God for you! St. Stephens Classical Christian Academy The Headmaster from St. Stephen s, John Dykes, is reaching out to the local Christian community looking for applicants to fill a vacancy for a 2nd Grade Teacher. Teachers at SSCCA do not need teacher certification, but they need to be willing to learn to teach using classical teaching methods. All employees at SSCCA must be confessing Christians and attend a Bible believing church.
