STEWARDSHIP There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 A thankful steward knows that all he or she possesses is the result of God s grace. What we make of our lives depends on our work, but the talents we possess are gifts from God. Blessings and thanks to Alexis Cammack and James Davis, Jr. who prayed for vocations last week. CSA 2018 "Bringing Christ to Others" Thanks to those who have already responded with a gift to the 2018 Catholic Services Appeal. To date we have raised $5,220 toward our goal through the support of 23 households. Please consider making a gift to the Catholic Services Appeal. Gifts can be made through our parish office or online at CSA. All that's necessary for evil to win is for good people to do nothing... (Forbidden Fruit II, Mary Compton and David Compton. ) Evangelization Stewardship talks begin today. Those giving upcoming testimonies are: Kay and Alexis Cammack on January 27th and Father Tom Gentile on February 3, All who are not receiving Holy Communion are encouraged to express in their hearts a prayerful desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another.

3 AROUND THE PARISH, ARCHDIOCESE AND COMMUNITY Introducing New Members to the African American Catholic Community (INMAACC) is an instruction process to bring unbaptized brothers and sisters into the church.. If you are interested in updating your knowledge concerning our Catholic Faith or new members in the Church please feel free to call the formation chairs in your parish: St. A Mrs. Turner CTK. Mrs. Moss SMDP. Mrs. Firmin, IHM. Mrs. Lewis Classes will start January 23rd. Viongozi Classes will take place in February from 6 to 7:30 at CEC. Sessions will include: From Maintenance to Mission Vibrant Ministry for the Black Community Developing and Maintaining Leadership for Ministering in the Black Catholic Church. Strength Finders What is an Africentric perspective Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street, Louisville, KY The theme is From Maintenance to Mission and Sr. Anita P. Baird, DHM will be the Guest Speaker. Join Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D., the Archdiocesan Gospel Choir, and many more during this celebration to honor a man who fought for all people. SAVE THE DATE: African American Catholic Leadership Awards Dinner The Archdiocese of Louisville s Office of Multicultural Ministry will host its 32 nd Annual African American Catholic Leadership Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 6:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY A Silent Auction and Cash Bar will begin at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of this awards dinner is to recognize African American Catholic leadership within the Archdiocese of Louisville. All proceeds from this event will go towards a scholarship fund that assists African American Catholic youth with secondary and post-secondary education. Youth scholarships will be given to young men and women who have demonstrated leadership in their church and school communities. Adults will be recognized for their leadership in the African American Catholic community. The list of the recipient s is attached. Tickets are $70.00 and should be purchased in advance.
