Following the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. services a minister or prayer team member is available for prayer at the Communion Table. Prayer team members are Judy Slade and Martha Kershaw at 9:30 a.m., and Pam Rinker at 11:00 a.m. Do not work so hard for Christ that you have no strength to pray, for prayer requires strength. TODAY S EVENTS Worship is at 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. in Monteith Hall and at 9:30 a.m. outside on the Front Lawn (weather permitting). Along with the day s scripture readings, our summer reads around justice, mercy, and humility will be the foundation for this time of casual conversation and reflection. All are welcome! ANNOUNCEMENTS We will celebrate Communion next Sunday at the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. services, but not at the 9:30 a.m. service. Communion Food Collection is next Sunday at all three services. As we are fed at the Lord s Table, we also come to feed others and lend support to those in need. Please bring food donations and/or financial contributions for Hope Clinic. We congratulate the Rev. Ed Koster, Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Detroit, celebrating forty years of ministry. Join us at Coffee Hour next Sunday as we say farewell to Peer Minister Lex Allum. We will celebrate her two-year ministry among us and wish her well as she begins her studies at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary under the watchcare of our congregation. The Youth Ministry Transition Team, headed by Linda Dabrowski, has selected four young disciples to serve First Pres as Summer Youth Interns from late June to mid-august, following a long practice of developing leadership gifts in young people and immersing them in the life and work of First Pres. The four, David Endicott, Claudia Morville, Sean Tichenor, and Abby Wilson, will be guided by Revs. Ervin, Ryo, and Sanderford.

5 Our Costa Rica Mission Team continues its ministry with the Portantorchas School in San José, Costa Rica, capping off a week of work and service, worship and fellowship, fun and explorations. This weekend our group visited Quepos on the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. Our group includes David Endicott, Nicole France, Cooper LeMaster, Kara Lindstrom, Miah McCallister, Aedan Mulcrone, Sean Tichenor, Abby Wilson, Stephanie Sorter, Claudia Morville, Claire Morville, Maddie Sudac, Josh King, Erin Tichenor, Jennifer Wilson, Lex Allum, and Jay Sanderford. Continue to pray for our group and the witness they will leave in Costa Rica. Try something new this summer a healthier Coffee Hour. For the month of July, we will offer fresh fruit instead of our regular famous donuts. If you are able to bring fruit (washed, cut up, ready to eat), Sandy Talbott (stalbott@firstpresbyterian.org). Your donation of flowers beautifies our 9:30 a.m. worship, celebrates the glory of God, and honors and remembers those you love. There are open dates for flowers in July and August. Mature Singles (single men and women over age 60) meets this Friday, June 30, 5:30 p.m., at Carlyle Bar and Grill, 3660 Jackson Road. Enemy Pie by Derek Munson Summary: One boy s perfect summer seems to be ruined when his worst enemy, Jeremy Ross, moves in down the block. Fortunately, though, Dad has a recipe for enemy pie.
