All: O my help, come quickly to my aid! One: All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, All: and all the families of the nations shall worship before God. * HYMN 361 How Firm a Foundation foundation PRAYER OF CONFESSION Great God, our creator, redeemer and sustainer, you are faithful and just. You honor us with your love and bless us with your grace. But again and again we fall into doubt. We feel alone and uncertain. Fear shakes us to the core. Despair pushes in. We flail about looking for answers or sink beneath the weight of circumstances. Everlasting God, we confess our lack of faith in your goodness and mercy and our failure to sense your presence with us. Help us call on you and to know that nothing can separate us from your love.

Your rod and your staff, my comfort and my hope. Refrain You have set me a banquet of love in the face of hatred, crowning me with love beyond my pow r to hold. What are the rooms like at Faholo Conference Center? Think of a Comfort Inn. We have reserved rooms in the main motel-like building. Every room has its own bathroom and most of the rooms can sleep up to 6, so families or friends can room together. Did you know? Three of the workshops offered are: I Spy with My Little Eye a Sandhill Crane: A Nature Walk for Families led by Dick and Sue Rigterink and Jane Hayes; Getting Along in Middle Earth: Hobbits, Dwarves and Elves Unite! led by Sarah Arthur, our keynote speaker; and Story: Yours, Ours, Others, led by Rev. Dr. Fairfax F. Fair.
7 The Services of Holy Week Palm Sunday, April 13 Worship at 8:00 a.m. and 7:07 p.m. in Monteith Hall Worship at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary Palm Sunday is the day we remember and reenact Jesus entry into Jerusalem. This practice can be traced back to the 4th Century in Jerusalem. During this procession, participants carry palms and other branches into the church, which becomes a symbol of Jerusalem. After the palm procession, the worship service becomes more somber as Holy Week begins. Maundy Thursday, April 17 Worship at 10:30 at Glacier Hills and at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary The emphasis for this Thursday is on Jesus new commandment of love: Love one another even as I have loved you. The word maundy comes from the English form of the Latin mandatum, meaning commandment. Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, and is a time when the discipline of Lent is concluded with forgiveness. Jesus commandment contrasts sharply with Judas betrayal at the completion of the Last Supper. Jesus love for all people is shown by his service to others, as well as in his gift of himself for our salvation. Good Friday, April 18 Worship at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary On Good Friday, we emphasize a time of reflection, intercession, and adoration of Christ as the sacrificial lamb. We will hold a Tenebrae service, which commemorates the sufferings and death of Christ. Conducted in a darkened church, it is a service of shadows. The Chancel Choir and instrumental ensemble will present chorales from Bach s St. John Passion. Easter Sunday, April 20 Worship at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary Worship at 7:07 in Monteith Hall Easter is the greatest Sunday of the church year, for without the resurrection, everything else would have no meaning. As such, it is welcomed with song and procession and joy by millions of people throughout the world. The days of fasting and reflection in Lent are over. The celebration is just starting! Christ is risen; he is risen indeed!
