Incidental Miracles Mark 5:21-43 Traditional Service (11:00am) How much about life is chance, is opportunity, is providence? Longing Psalm 130 Hawfields Alive (6:00 pm) Impatience can cheapen our hopes. God s grace prevailing is worth waiting for. INTROIT God Is My Refuge *CALL TO WORSHIP (based on Psalm 121:1-13) God calls to us from all that would distract us to our common task: to worship God. Let us draw our hearts and minds together for the true audience in this moment: God. Leader: WE raise our eyes toward the mountains. Where will our help come from? People: Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Leader: God won t let our feet slip. People: Our protector won t fall asleep on the job. *HYMN OF PRAISE How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds #123 *CALL TO CONFESSION We confess our sins because we should. God forgives because God chooses. Let us live into God s mercy and confess our sins together. *PRAYER OF CONFESSION God, sometimes your healing hand feels far away from us. Sometimes it s hard to see the grace you are performing in our midst. Sometimes we re a part of dashing the hopes and peace you are trying to establish. Sometimes, O God, we are wounded and find ourselves wounding. We need your healing, Lord, not just sometimes, but all the time. Teach us to long for your presence and to recognize you at around us and in us. In the great name of the great healer, Jesus Christ, we pray as one.

4 ANNOUNCEMENTS MEBANE PARADE We are asking for church members to join the parade Wednesday, July 4th. The festivities start at 9am and the parade begins at 10:30am. If you are interested please meet at the festivities by 10am. Please wear a Hawfield's t-shirt and a welcoming smile! This all takes place at the Mebane Historical Museum. You can walk or ride a bike. Bring your dog. Let's celebrate this great country by representing Hawfield's Presbyterian Church. DEDICATION of the Veterans Memorial and Flagpole by Nicky Carter will be held in Hawfields Cemetery on July 4 at 9am. IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM BEREAVEMENT (Compassion Committee): We are in need of 3-4 people that would be willing to lead a Bereavement group. The person would be in charge of heading up a group to serve refreshments following a funeral service at Hawfields Church. The Compassion Committee believes that this service our church provides is very important to the family and friends during their loss of a loved one and serves in showing our Christian love and comfort during a difficult time. Please prayerfully consider volunteering to use your gifts in this ministry. You will be given direction and training in how the process works.
