SFA SCRIPTURE STUDY Join us on Thurs., Sept. 7:30 pm, (rectory/lower level - St. Joseph's Room) We will begin The Gospel of Matthew. The Gospel of Matthew is distinctive for its practice of citing the Old Testament in connection with Jesus' activity and teaching, and for a structured presentation of his doctrine in formof sermons or discourses. For information: sfascripturestudy@gmail.com ATTENTION: Please DO NOT light the candles in Church by using another candle. One could get burned and the wax is dripping all over the candle stands creating a mess. PLEASE use the lighter. If you have trouble with the lighter, ask for help. Thank You. Focus: God offers salvation to all who have faith in him and follow his ways. The Lord welcomes to the kingdom all who believe in him and follow him. His mercy and love is extended to all. Let us strive not to focus on each other s differences, but to view others through the eyes of Jesus, and seek to celebrate that we are all children of God by reaching out to one another with love and kindness. SFA Blood Drive will be Sunday, September 10th Please be mindful that there are people who come to church early in order to pray. Please show respect by observing silence. When going on vacation and you need to know the nearest Catholic Church, will assist you.

6 2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL LIVE IN FAITH, GIVE IN LOVE The 2017 Appeal is underway. Our goal for this year is $39, As of this date $ 26, has been pledged and $ 22, has been received towards achieving our goal. The theme this year, Live in Faith, Give in Love, speaks of the two theological virtues of faith and charity. They describe how we should live and how we are called to share the blessings we have received. As in past years, the Annual Catholic Appeal will continue to support seminarian education and formation, Catholic Charities, Faith Formation, Catholic Migration Services, and Catholic school education and catechesis. You make these great works possible for our Diocese. Your generosity impacts countless lives for Christ. Together we all play a part in advancing the Church s mission here in our Diocese. Brochures are available at the doors of the Church in English and Italian. Whatever you are able to contribute to help us reach our goal this year is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do. May God Bless you always. Msgr. Maresca

If you attend a mass and there is no Altar Server, feel free if you wish to come up and serve. I know that some masses have no server or one server; that s because of vacation schedules. I did my best to honor everyone s availability to serve. If you are traveling will help you find the closest Catholic Church. Remember to say your prayers everyday and attend mass every weekend. God has blessed us in so many wonderful ways and Mass is the best way to show our thanks and be nourished with the Body and Blood of Christ. Thank you for your service at the Altar. God Bless, Msgr.
