6 Rev. Gale and Laura Williamson Centennial Carillon Dedication Please mark your calendars for next Sunday, November 22nd when we dedicate the new Rev. Gale & Laura Williamson Centennial Carillon at the 11:00 worship service. The carillon is a wonderful addition to our church property and will play beautiful hymns Monday - Friday at noon, 6pm and in between all Sunday Worship Services. Hymns can also be scheduled to play for special occasions and events. Come celebrate with the Williamson s! 50,000 Cans for Christmas, Give the Gift of Food to Those in Need Englewood Helping Hand, Inc. would like to collect 50,000 cans this holiday season. These cans will enable us to provide over 40,000 meals to hungry Englewood residents, which has been given out in the last 4 months. All of the food donated to Englewood Helping Hand, Inc. stays in our community. The high priority items requested: Canned Chicken/Turkey Tuna Soup Peanut Butter Mac & Cheese Fruit Rice Toilet Paper Soap Please deliver your donation to Helping Hand (located on the EUMC campus) or we will have grocery carts in the Sanctuary entrances and in Fellowship Hall.. REMINDER: Food with an expired use by date cannot be given out by Helping Hand. Thanks to the incredible generosity of this church, we have once again exceeded our goal of giving to the Children s Home. As a result, our Fifth Sunday offering this month will go to the Preschool. As you have read in the newsletter the past couple of months, the Preschool faces some real fiscal challenges. On average, tuition is $160 a week (a lot for a parent to pay; especially if they have more than one child), salaries are $9.00 an hour and the school is required to have a teacher for every 4 students (infants), 6 students (toddlers), 9 students (2s), 13 students (3s). A strength of our school is that we actually keep our ratios lower for our 2s and 3s. Trying to maintain our ratios, tuition and quality of service is fiscally difficult. It is our hope that you will put this request to prayer and are able to give on November 29th. 6
7 DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON.COM??? If so, PAY ATTENTION!! EUMC now has Amazon Smile! Amazon.com donates.5% of your purchases with them back to a charity you select. DIRECTIONS: Go to your search bar (google, yahoo, bing, etc.). Type Amazon Smile. Once you click on the link, it will prompt you to login to your Amazon account. Next, you will be forwarded to a page where you pick your own charitable organization. Type in Englewood United Methodist Church Englewood, FL in the search bar and search. When it appears, click the yellow Select button. They will prompt you to save AmazonSmile on your favorites bar. (I highly recommend this for memory sake!) MOST IMPORTANT POINT! From now on No longer go to but instead go to The only way the church gets the.5% back is if you make this change (which is why I suggest the favorites bar save). Thanks for supporting the missions of our church in your Amazon Shopping Endeavors! Pastor Perri Tuesday, December 1 6:30 p.m. Cost of book $5 Call Skip Wilson to sign up ALTERNATIVE GIFTS Come over to Fellowship Hall next week and find that special gift for a loved one. This year we have added an Earth Gift Basket to our list of pay it forward gift choices. A hive of bees and seedlings of trees are included in this earth-friendly package. The benefits from the bees are twofold. The wax and honey they provide can be sold at market for extra income, and their pollination can create more and better fruits and vegetables. As the tree seedling grows, their roots prevent soil erosion and create shade for animals. Mother Nature would certainly appreciate this thoughtful gift. We will be available after each church service in Fellowship Hall, November 22 & 29 & December 6 & 13 to serve you. 7
