Jesus call us to faithful discipleship and empowers us to be fearless in our living, our serving, our sowing and our giving. 3 God of all mercy and consolation, ome to the aid of your people, turning us from our sin to live for you alone. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit that, attentive to your Word, we may confess our sins, receive your forgiveness, and grow into the fullness of your Son, Jesus hrist our Lord. Amen. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Silence is kept for reflection. Gracious God, have mercy on us. In your compassion, forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things done and left undone. Such a very large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the sea and sat there, while the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land. 2 He began to teach them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: 3 Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up quickly, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched; and since it had no root, it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold. 9 And he said, Let anyone with ears to hear listen! 8 AOSTLES REED A God has made us his people through our Baptism into hrist. Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus hrist, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under ontius ilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic hurch, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. 11 EUHARISTI RAYER Blessed are you, Lord of heaven and earth. In mercy for our fall world you gave your only Son, that all those who believe in him should not perish, but have eternal life. The prayer continues. Send now your Holy Spirit into our hearts, that we may receive our Lord with a living faith as he comes to us in his holy supper. Amen. ome, Lord, Jesus. The prayer continues. 12 Lamb of God Believing in the real presence of hrist s body and blood in the bread and wine of Holy ommunion for the forgiveness of sin, we practice Eucharistic hospitality. All baptized persons are welcomed to the Lord s Table. hildren who do not commune are invited forward to receive a blessing. You may receive the ommunion Wine from the Red halice (ommon up) as it is offered to you or by taking a communion glass from the tray. Grape juice is available in the center of the communion tray. After you have received, please place the empty communion glass in the basket provided. When giving the host and wine, the ministers say: The body of hrist, given for you. 17 ADULT LEARNING OORTUNITY The Early hurch Becoming a Light in the Darkness. The archaeological discoveries revealed in this 12 volume series provide even more reason to believe the Bible. More importantly, these videos, filmed in Israel and the Middle East where Bible events actually took place, weaves together historical, cultural, and geographical contexts to reveal keen insights into how people in biblical times understood God and Jesus teaching. Teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan shares his knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures significant for believers today. This class meets in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning. Wednesday Women's Bible Study The Wednesday Women s Bible study meets weekly. The Girls Still Got It is an in-depth study of the Old Testament book of Ruth. Women of Grace and their friends are invited to participate Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Facilitator: astor Walston MEN OF GRAE The Men of Grace meet the third Saturday of every month, October through May, at 8 am in the Loaves & Fishes afé. The lesson theme that has been planned for this year is entitled, AHA - Awakening - Honest - Action. Grace also supports Lutheran Social Services programs like Faith Mission and provides weekly meeting space for Boy Scout Troop 007 and three AA groups.
