Wauwatosa Ave., Wauwatosa, WI September 11 th, 2016 Seventeenth Sunday after entecost 7:30 a.m. Service (lease stand as you are able) all to Worship God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, and the mountains shake. Though the waters roar, The LORD is our strength and our might. rayers of Remembrance, omfort and Hope for September 11, 2001/2016 We light a candle in remembrance of all those who suffered and died as a result of the attacks on September 11, O God, our hope and refuge, in our distress we come quickly to you. Shock and horror of that tragic day have subsided, replaced now with an emptiness, a longing for an innocence lost. We come remembering those who lost their lives in New York, Washington D.., and ennsylvania. We are mindful of the sacrifice of public servants who demonstrated the greatest love of all by laying down their lives for friends. We come remembering and we come in hope, not in ourselves, but in you. As foundations we once thought secure have been shaken, we are reminded of the illusion of security. In commemorating this tragedy, we give you thanks for your presence in our time of need and we seek to worship you in Spirit and in truth, our guide and our guardian. Let us pray. God of all creation, our hearts are broken over the loss we remember this day. In our remembering, may we stand with those who mourn and those who cannot stop mourning. Through remembering, may we find new comfort in your care. In our remembering may we be drawn to a new hope for the whole world, and may we gain for ourselves a measure of your peace. This we pray in the strong name of Jesus our hrist. Amen.

Second Reading 1 Timothy 1:12-17 The letters to Timothy are called the astoral Epistles because they contain advice especially intended for leaders in the church. Here the mercy shown to aul, who once persecuted the church, is cited as evidence that even the most unworthy may become witnesses to the grace of God.
