9 We believe in one Lord, Jesus hrist, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under ontius ilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. You have filled all creation with light and life; heaven and earth are full of your glory. Through Abraham you promised to bless all nations. You rescued Israel, your chosen people. Through the prophets you renewed your promise; and, at this end of all the ages, you sent your Son, who in words and deeds proclaimed your kingdom and was obedient to your will, even to giving his life. 17 Farewell and Godspeed resident of the hurch ouncil Marian, our arish nurse, is retiring and taking leave from our congregation and we wish to bid her thanks and farewell. We invite her to come forward at this time. Brief comments may be made concerning Marian and her ministry. In Holy Baptism our Lord Jesus hrist received you and made you members of his hurch. When you came to this congregation we rejoiced to receive you into our fellowship in the Gospel as a worker in the Kingdom of God. In this community of faith you have heard and shared the proclamation of God's Word, which reveals his loving purpose for you and for all creation. You have been nourished at hrist's holy table as you were called to be a witness to the Gospel. God has blessed you in this fellowship, and he has blessed us through you. A Let us pray. Eternal God, we thank you for Marian and for our life together in this congregation and community. As she has been a blessing to us, so now send her forth to be a blessing to others; through Jesus hrist our Lord. Amen The congregation may offer their Thanksgiving to God with applause.
