1 September 9, 2018 The Mission of the First Baptist Church is to honour Jesus Christ by proclaiming and living the truth of the scriptures in the power of the Holy Spirit, within our church family and in the world.

2 To Lacombe First Baptist Church. Service begins at 10am. Kids aged 0 to Grade 6 will be dismissed most Sundays during the service for Nursery and Sunday School. Grades 7-12 will have Youth Sunday School on the first 3 Sundays of every month. KICK OFF SUNDAY GOD S BIG PICTURE... ARE YOU THE MISSING PIECE? Come check out the ministry opportunities happening this fall! Sunday School for preschool to grade 12 will be kicking off today too! All classes will be dismissed during the service. Nursery is also available for those under the age of 3. There is a potluck following the service. Please bring a main dish and a side or dessert to share.

3 Ladies! The dates are set for our 2018 Ladies Retreat. Come join us at Pine Lake Christian Camp from October for a weekend of fellowship, teaching, and worship. The cost will be $170. We will have more details and registration forms coming out in September. If you have any questions, you can talk with Vanessa Howey or Stacey Klingbeil. We hope to see you there! If your family is not represented on the FBC Picture Board or it is, but could use an update, Karen White will be taking family pictures on September 9th & 16th. You can find her before or after the service in the foyer. Youth should check out the Yu-turn schedule for Life 360 and drop in dates. There is a parent meeting on Sept. 11th at the center for any parents of kids in grades 7-12 that would like more information about what Life 360 will cover will cover this year. They are also seeking volunteers to help with this program. Contact Gregg Lockhart at or Marilyn Janzen at if your interested in helping out. Deb Hultink is hosting a baby Shower for Cassie Siebanga and their baby boy, Edison. Ladies, please join us on September 7:30pm to celebrate. 45 Erica Drive. The elders will be meeting on Thursday, September 13th from 7:30-9pm in the prayer room. Anyone looking to talk with the Elders or prayer are welcome to drop in during this time.

4 This fall we will be engaging in a church-wide study of Jim Cymbala s material Life Changing Prayer. God s throne of grace. It is not a physical location you can visit, but the promises you read about it in the Bible are so immense that they are almost beyond belief. And as Hebrews 4:16 states, you can always approach God s throne of grace with confidence, knowing that you will receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need. We will explore how God promises in his Word to always hear you, answer you, and extend his mercy when you come to him. As you pray with faith, he will provide his perfect peace and meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory (Philippians 4:19). You will find that approaching God s throne of grace will change your life and circumstances like nothing else and that when you and other believers call on his name, powerful things happen in the world! Sign up for small groups will begin on kick off Sunday, September 9 th with meetings beginning the week of Sunday, September 23 rd. There are 6 sessions, making the week of October 28 th the last week.
