3 Dear Members, Spiritual health is up to each of you it is your responsibility. Small groups allow us a way to mentor each other on our faith journey. Regular participation provides accountability and support in the areas of life toward which you are growing. The idea is for everyone to be moving in the same direction toward a healthy and balanced life centered on Christ. (Adapted from Leading Small Groups with a Purpose Steve Gladden) I hope you will choose to worship with FUMC and to participate in at least one small group of Christian Discipleship. Sincerely, Rebecca B. Greene Director of Spiritual Formation Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don t drift along, taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need first-hand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. 2 Corinthians 13:5 the Message Translation

11 March 6 I 5:30pm Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. In the Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of preparation for the understanding of the death and resurrection of Christ. The particular symbolism of an ash cross on the forehead is a sign of mortality and repentance; signifying purification and sorrow for sins.
