It is our desire to glorify God as a community of Christ followers who love God, love people, and make disciples because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus or have questions about your faith, please feel free to speak with Pastor Cliff, Pastor Phil or one of the Elders. If you wish to be removed or changed from one list to the other, let us know that as well. Our Greeters Schedule will be mailed out on August 12 to everyone who is currently on the existing list. Anyone who has never served as a greeter on Sunday morning and would like to extend a warm hand of friendship to those coming through our doors, should contact Vina Kaczmarczyk no later than August 1 at or at Kaczmarcz5@aol.com
6 Summer Worship There will be no Sunday School June 16th - September 1st Worship will 9:30am Now - September 1st (9am Sunday School and 10:30 Worship will resume on September 8th) Today is the last day to donate to EGCC s food drive to benefit local families. Items to consider donating include: Peanut butter, canned fruits & vegetables, packets of gelatin and pudding, baking supplies, soups, spaghetti sauce, laundry soap, etc. There will be a collection point at the back of the church. Please be sure to check the expiration dates on all the items you are donating! EGCC Camping Trip When : August 9th - 11th Where: Sacandaga Bible Conference Contact: Cindi Phillips has registration forms Cost: $25 per night $15 day use per family - $10 for individual Saturday night concert If you need camping equipment, please let Cindi know.
7 Summer Reading Program 2013 The EGCC summer reading program will begin on June 24th and will end on August 24th. Please consider joining us this summer in our exciting reading program, which is intended to encourage reading and can provide the means to explore our own faith, gain information, and utilize our imaginations. All independent readers are welcome to join. There is a sign up sheet posted in the narthex, so please be sure to sign up. As has been the tradition for the last two years, we will be celebrating our reading successes at an ice cream social likely in September. Prizes will be awarded for various achievements (most books/ pages read in each age category) and also at random. Thank you! Becky Blais, CE Board There will be a Women s Bible Study this summer on the topic of Being Disciples of Jesus. We will be meeting on Tuesday evenings at 7pm beginning on July 9 th at the church. Volunteer Servers are needed for City Mission Meals July 19th and August 23rd, 4:45p.m.-6:15p.m. Sign up sheets are in the foyer. 8 Summer Youth Group Activities Youth Mission Trip to Staten Island We will be departing TODAY at 1pm. Returning Saturday, July 27th. We will be staying in Staten Island and working with We Care Ministries. We Care Ministries is a national faith-based organization offering compassionate care in times of crises by providing physical, spiritual and emotional support to people suffering from a traumatic loss. We will be helping with the recovery following Hurricane Sandy. Our team includes: Travis Phillips, George Tockmakis (from IAM Builders), Michele Sloan, Hope Chevalier, Kevin Gideon, Danielle Sloan, Nicole Panetta, Luke Delano, Laura Benner, Dana Drosdick, Allie Dowling, and Sierra Cook. Thanks to all for your prayer and financial support. We ask for prayers for our trip - -good health, safety, and the opportunity to minister to those in need. We want to listen to God and be available in any way He calls us to be. July 28th Youth Group will meet at the Sloan s House Join us for Games, Bonfire and Mission Report! Please pray for resolution. Bill Johnson, (friend of the Capeci Family) has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Please pray for healing and wisdom for his doctors. Susan Richter, M. Shaver's sister: Endometrial Cancer, still complications from surgery and has started chemotherapy. Nate Caldwell and family, with the passing of his grandfather. Jean Berquist, family friend of Debbie Palmatier, who will be having a bone marrow transplant. Please pray for Raymond DiCamillo (father-in-law of Andrea and Pete Slover s daughter) who is hospitalized for treatment of cancer. Carol Versocki s friend, Karen, who was in a horrible accident, had the wires removed from her jaw and was able to start on some solid food.
