1 Letter from the Senior Pastor T.P. Kelley has worked as an FBI agent, Chief of Police for Shreveport, Louisiana, and finally as a private investigator who specialized in matching unclaimed inheritances with lost heirs. By far, he claimed, the task of the private investigator was the most tedious of all. It often required weeks of searching. But the most difficult part of it all was convincing unsuspecting heirs that they really do have money or property coming to them. One man, who had $15,000 coming, eluded Kelley s attempts to reach him for six months thinking it was a fraud, or a bad joke. The Bible declares that believers are adopted members of God s family (John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:4.) We stand to share in all that God has for His beloved Son. In Romans 8:17 we read, Now if we are children, then we are heirs heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ... Why would anyone turn down the greatest inheritance in the World when it could be theirs by simply accepting Christ? Our job, as witnesses (private investigators for Christ,) is to convince people that the inheritance is theirs only if they would believe! Always in prayer for you all, Pastor Sam Grozdanov Special Events this Month Oct. 2 ~ 9:00am -5:00pm Life Line Screening in KH Oct.13 ~ 8:00am on the grounds ~ Charles Landen Beautification Day Oct. 13 ~ 10:00am in KH Nepali Jewelry Sale ~ Oct. 16 ~ 10:30am B112 Karen Collins WMU Oct ~ Eagle Eyrie Fifty Plus Retreat Oct. 25 ~ 10:30am KH Young-at-Hearts Please join us for a food packing event in Kincheloe Hall on Sunday, October 28 at 2:00p.m. Sign up is on the Welcome Table. 2 Letter from Pastor Rudd It is October and fall is here. The leaves are changing, and the trees are moving their nutrients back to the roots to reconnect, rest and get ready for new growth. I pray that our church will do the same thing. We have started the process of re-engaging our Church Council, reviewing our Constitution and By-Laws, and initiating a new outreach program with our Sunday School. It is an exciting time here and busy. It is wonderful to be joining God in HIS work. I have three opportunities for all our members to connect with our Baptist roots, be inspired and have fun. Please, pray about attending and being a voting messenger each of these events. Join me at all of these events! ~ Dorryce Ann Rudd Mission Opportunity Hurricanes and tornadoes bring such destruction! We all want to help in some way. We each can help with prayer and money, but for some it is a call to go. Here at Branch 's we have a need which also shakes our very foundation as a church. We have babies and toddlers who have no one to watch them. If you were a young couple coming to Branch's and there was no care for your child you would leave. Mission Team Extended Session needs workers who are physically and spiritually ready to serve. Jesus knew the importance of the children. Let us all have the eyes of Jesus and pray about how we can serve. Branch's wants our church to have a strong foundation. We are calling all those men and women who are physically able to care for a little one to partner with us and become a part of Mission Extended Session (child care) during worship time. Ask God how you can help. Will you pray, or give your time to care for our little ones? Contact; Sandy Eberhard , Rachel Contreras , or Betty Young Branch s Kidz Corner Come join us on October 28th at 10:35-10:50 in Kincheloe Hall to hear the sweet voices of our Children's Choir. Branching Out with Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love Calling all writers and storytellers? Do you have a story to share a story of hope, a story of peace, a story of joy, a story of love? Please tell your story to encourage others during this Advent season. Choose one of the themes and write about an event or memory. You may use a Scripture and share a photo or image to accompany your story. It can be handwritten, typed, ed or told to someone and transcribed. Let s tell our stories and create a wonderful Advent devotional book for all of us to read and enjoy this Christmas. Both congregations are invited to be part of this devotional book. All stories will be translated in English and in Spanish. For any questions, contact Bonnie.Surma@branchs.org. Submission deadline is Sunday, November 7.
