4 PROFESSION OF FAITH Pastor Elizabeth: Sisters and brothers in Christ I ask you therefore, once again to reject sin, and to profess your faith in Christ Jesus, and to confess the faith of the church, in which we were baptized. A.T., Ryan, Heather, Eric, and Mike, trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world? I do. Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept him as Savior, trusting in his grace and love? I do. Will you be Christ's faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love? I will, with God's help. You have publicly professed your faith. Will you be a faithful member of this congregation, share in its worship and ministry through your prayers and gifts, your study and service, and so fulfill your calling to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Thank you!! Christmas at Sea Donations due Nov. 18: The Sunday School is collecting items for the Seamen s Center Christmas at Sea ditty boxes again this year. Many seafarers are far from home during the holiday season, and often these ditty boxes from the Seamen s Center are the only gifts they receive. Please bring in your donations by Sun., Nov. 18 and place in basket provided in the Narthex. Items include: shoe boxes, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, razors, comb, chapstick, and warm caps, scarves & gloves. (See Nov. Courier for a complete list.) Finance & Stewardship Potluck Lunch & Mission Fair Sun., Nov. 4 11:30am Fellowship Hall We hope you will join us for this celebration of stewardship! We will highlight the important work of our committees, learn about the mission opportunities that take place in the church and in the community, and celebrate the ways we are reaching out as Christians at Concord Church. Mission Friendship House Breakfast Closet: On the first Monday of the month, volunteers from Concord deliver breakfast supplies to the FH Women s Day Center. We need the following items: cans of regular coffee 3-lb. bags of sugar, sealed in plastic bag large containers of powdered creamer large jars of peanut butter and jelly large boxes of regular tea bags. Place your donations in the designated basket in the Narthex. (Personal-size toiletries for women & men are also helpful.)
