Rooted in the celebration of the Eucharist, we go forth to serve, to educate, and to live daily the message of Jesus Christ.

2 DEAR HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: This coming Saturday, Nov. 11th, is Veterans Day in America. We call to mind the many men & women who have served our country well in the armed services. Countless numbers have answered the call over the past centuries to defend & protect our nation. We honor them this Saturday & every day. Let us thank someone we know who is a veteran for their brave service. Let us pray for all those veterans who returned from war or duty & are disabled in some way. Let us commend to the Lord all those who have died in service. Let us never forget our veterans. THEY NEVER FORGET US! This week is National Vocation Awareness Week in our Catholic Church. This is a week to focus on vocations & how we can foster them. We are in need of many more priests, religious sisters & brothers, & lay ministers. We are in need of stronger marriages. We are in need of more committed single people in our Church. These 3 vocations are vital to the richness & vitality of the Roman Catholic Church in America. We can all do our part in promoting vocations! First of all---do we pray for more priests & religious sisters? Wouldn t it be great if we could have Sisters in many of our Catholic School classrooms like we did when many of us grew up? To have that religious presence was so valuable. Wouldn t it be great to have two or three priests assigned to a parish instead of one priest covering several parishes? Wouldn t it be great to see the number of divorces decrease substantially? Wouldn t it be great to see our single people immerse themselves into being servants of service to the Church? Our prayers can enable these things to happen. We can also ASK people we know to consider being a priest or religious sister. Don t be afraid to suggest that they be open to priesthood or sisterhood. Many times people aren t invited. We can invite them. Please read the sheet in this bulletin about Vocations. And then pray, pray, pray. And then ask, ask, ask! ALSO, notice the beautiful Remembrance Board in our vestibule, having the names of our deceased loved ones since last Nov. 2nd. We will pray for them, too, in our November Masses. PROTECTING GOD S CHILDREN CLASSES Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 4:30 p.m. All parents of children who are attending Holy Family School & anyone who will be volunteering at the school or parish will need the class. If you are thinking of volunteering, we encourage you to take this class. You only have to take it once, and after your background check, you are ready to volunteer! Please call the rectory at to sign up. ANNUAL CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL: I bet you have heard of companies advertising 2-for-1 deals. For one purchase, you get an extra bonus or something more than just one thing. Well, the ACSA is a 2-for-1 Campaign. How? If you contribute to it, you help the Diocese of Springfield; AND, you help our parish reach its assessed goal of $80,088. What a deal, wouldn t you agree? PLEASE respond to the ACSA by giving a generous donation, thus enabling us to reach our goal & even surpass it. All monies that exceed our goal are returned to our parish!!!
