2 PRECIOUS BLOOD On this solemnity we focus our attention of the Body and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal of the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the blood of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the people. Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new covenant, shed that precious blood on the cross, saving us from sin and promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life source that courses through our bodies. The precious blood of Christ is the life source for our spirits. Today may we, like the psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, whose Body and Blood strengthen us to bring the Good News to everyone we meet. TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ST. WILLIAM We have a most generous parish. Many thanks for the magnanimous second collection on Mother s Day. We were able to send $ to each of the charities: Northside Pregnancy Options, Little Sisters of the Poor and Holy Family Adoption Agency. $ total. This is the most we have ever collected. Not only were we able to help financially, we brought a van full of diapers, blankets, beautiful hand made quilts, afghans, baby clothes and miscellaneous items to Northside Pregnancy Options. These will supply low income parents with much needed baby care items. Thank You again St. William s is an awesome community Jean Wagener PLAN AHEAD - PLEASE JOIN US ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT, THE 1ST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH 10:30 AM -NOON ENDING WITH BENEDICTION AND NOON MASS. In the book "JESUS CALLING", Jesus continually asks us to sit quietly with Him and spend time with Him. Our 1st Friday adoration is a perfect time to do this. If you can spend 5 minutes, 1/2 hour,1 hour, whatever time you have, Jesus would like to spend time with you. Your support allows Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency to continue its life saving mission of following in the footsteps of Saint Mother Teresa who said to mothers Come, we will take care of you, we will get a home for your child. This is so important now that Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency is the only Catholic adoption agency in the Archdiocese, since Catholic Charities is no longer proving adoption services. WILLIAMS: THE BOOK BIN You will find this book cart in the Gathering Space on weekends: Help yourself to a book to read and return it later. You can also add to the collection if you would like: children's and adult books about spirituality, religion, self-development. It s one small way we can think green while perhaps also enriching ourselves spiritually.

3 FAITH FORMATION Vacation Bible School - July 30th - Aug. 3rd Created by God! Built for a Purpose!! For 3 year olds to 4th Graders At Maker Fun Factory, kids learn one important Bible point each day, & it s reinforced through: Bible adventures, songs, games, music, snacks, crafts, and new this year Saint cards!! Cost - $35/child. See the Gathering Space and St Williams website for registration information and information for volunteers. Registration ends June 4th! Completed 5th grade and older? There are all kinds of ways big kids can be involved! Teens, pre-teens, adults Can be guides, assistants, nursery help, food help and more! Quo Vadis Where are you Going? Camps for young men and women searching for God s will in your life! For Youth ages An opportunity to spend time with other young men or women who desire to look more closely at where God is calling you! Men s camp: Sun., July 8-Wed., July 11. Women s camp: Sun. July 15- Wed., July 18. Each camp includes Mass, Adoration, spiritual talks, field trips and recreation. Held at St John Vianney Seminary at the University of St Thomas in St Paul. Registration fee: $100 Registration and more information is online at or call SOCIAL JUSTICE AND OUTREACH Outreach Ministry In June, we are collecting donations for Steppingstone Emergency Housing. This organization located in Anoka serves single homeless adults by providing temporary shelter and assistance to find housing and employment. A list of needed items is in the Gathering Space collection crib and at church entrances. Also nonperishable food items for SACA are always needed and can be left in the Gathering Space blue collection barrel or dropped off at the Ad Center. More on Volunteering Volunteers are always needed to help people in the community. Here are some local organizations looking for volunteers and websites to learn more: Southern Anoka Community Assistance at Steppingstone Emergency Housing at Twin Cities Catholic Charities at Hope 4 Youth at Bridgeview at and Feed My Starving Children at Families Moving Forward We are hosting Families Moving Forward guests here at St. William this week. Please pray for them and for an end to homelessness.
