3 Dear Parishioners, This evening I along with Father Thomas Pettei, Episcopal Vicar in the Diocese, and several parishioners and guests will depart for Italy and begin a ten day pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi, Siena and Florence. As you know the pilgrimage is part of our parish celebration commemorating the founding of Our Lady of the Snows Parish in 1948 and the dedication of the new church in Ever Ancient Ever New Our Lady of the Snows R. C. Church There will be many places to visit and churches to pray in but without a doubt the highlight of the pilgrimage will be the celebration of Mass at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore on the Esquiline Hill in Rome this coming Wednesday, April 11 th. When we come to the basilica we will sing our beautiful parish hymn, Our Lady of the Snows with full voice and recall the miraculous event of her apparition to a young couple so many years ago. Maybe a few snowflakes will fall from the cupola! Please know you and your intentions will be remembered during this special Mass and throughout the pilgrimage. Our parish has been truly blessed over the past 70 years and the dedication of the new church 10 years ago is a true testimony of the fidelity and devotion of countless numbers of parishioners from the past and in the present. Our deceased parishioners will be prayed for as well. Please keep us in prayer too for a safe journey to Italy and our return on April 17 th. Look upon our parish, Mother from above, help it grow in grace, in charity and love... All our lives, may we renew in this parish named for you; O Mother! Our Lady of the Snows.
