The fifty-fourth annual Archbishop's Vocations Fund Dinner hosted by the Serra Clubs of District 22 will be held this year at the Mayfair Farms in West Orange, NJ on June 3, The dinner will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the exact format as last years which was a huge success. This occasion is another activity offering parishioners, friends of Serra and others an opportunity to help in promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Scriptural Reflection on Stewardship In today s Gospel, Jesus prays, I have given You glory on earth by finishing the work You gave Me to do. Good stewards follow His example by using their time and talents for the glory of God. HOLY HOUR Every Tuesday, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the church from 3 to 4 p.m. It is an hour of prayer for the priests, religious men and women and an increase of vocations to the priesthood and the religious life of the Church. We invite you to come and spend time with the Lord for these intentions and for your personal requests. Holy Hour closes with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Pray To End Abortion On Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 4:00 p.m., the Knights of Columbus /Carroll Council No will be rededicating the In Memory of the Unborn Victims monument located in front of the St. Paul of the Cross convent next to the flagpole. 6 St. Anne s Rosary Society would like to thank everyone who donated cakes and monetary donations to their Cake Sale last weekend and also, for any items contributed to their Flea Market. They profited $527; $500 of their profit was donated to St. Anne s. If you wish to become member, please contact the President of the Rosary Society, Nora Browne, at FOOD PANTRY The Food Pantry is distributed from St. Nicholas with all three parishes each contributing non-perishable food throughout the year. The following items are needed: peanut butter, jelly, pasta, juice, tea/coffee, rice, instant potatoes, tuna, canned meats, macaroni & cheese, canned fruit, canned sauce and cereal. Please place food in receptacle provided in the church vestibule. Thank you. St. Nicholas is asking for a volunteer from St. Anne s to help with sorting the food. This help will be needed on the 2nd Monday each month at 4:30 p.m. in St. Nicholas Rectory on Ferry Street, JC. Any questions, please call Georgene at the rectory. 7 Happy Mother s Day All Masses on Mother s Day have been set aside and are offered as a Novena of Thanksgiving for our living and deceased Mothers. Spiritual Bouquets are available in the back of Church. Each comes with a special Mother s Day card. A white carnation will be added to St. Anne s altar for each mother.
