As Jesus cures the blind man, so too are we brought from darkness into light through the grace of baptism. "We have to do the works of the one who sent me while it is day." - John 9:4 It is important to note that Jesus uses the plural "we" in this statement and not the singular "I." By saying, "We have to do the works..." Jesus commands all of us to participate in the work of God. It is not enough for us to simply know God's will. We must also do God's will, which means helping and serving others. Every Tuesday, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the church from 3 to 4 p.m. It is an hour of prayer for the priests, religious men and women and an increase of vocations to the priesthood and the religious life of the Church. We invite you to come and spend time with the Lord for these intentions and for your personal requests. Holy Hour closes with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Hay muchas maneras y formas y de oración: La Oración Oración de petición: La forma más inferior de oración, no está mal, pero tenemos que tener cuidado que nuestra oración no sólo sea una lista de cosas para que el Señor nos las de. Oración de intercession: Consiste en pedir por alguna persona que no es uno mismo. Pedir a Dios algo para alguien, o pedir para alguna cosa más general. Oración de arrepentimiento: Pedir perdón por nuestros pecados. Pedir perdón cuando le fallamos a Dios. Oración de reparación: Pedir perdón por los pecados de otros. Hay personas que no se arrepienten y podemos orar a Dios por esas personas. Oración de agradecimiento: El significado de esta forma de oración es claro. Pero cuántas veces oramos agradeciendo a Dios por todo lo que nos da? Oración de entrega: Es una oración de confianza en Dios. Como no confiar en El que es nuestro Padre y que desea lo mejor para nuestro bien? Oración de alabanza: Decirle a Dios lo grande que es, lo bueno que es, las maravillas que ha hecho y hace en nuestras vidas. Oración de adoración: La forma más elevada de oración. Adorar a Dios es reconocerlo como nuestro Creador y nuestro Dueño. Dependemos de El y nos entregamos a El nos entregamos a su Voluntad. En la Cuaresma debemos aumentar nuestra oración, es un regalo que Dios nos ha dado. Es un privilegio que tenemos de poder dirigirnos a nuestro Creador y que El nos escuche. Questions and Answers on the Mass Changes April 3, Part 5 of 7 On November 27, 2011, the English speaking Church in the USA will begin using a new translation of the prayers used at Mass (The Roman Missal). A series of Questions and Answers on this topic will be posted here to help explain the thinking behind these changes. Please check back weekly. 5. Can we start using the texts approved by the bishops immediately? The translation of the Missale Romanum could not be used in the celebration of the Mass until the complete text was confirmed by the Holy See. Now that the translation has received the recognitio, the USCCB has established the first day on which the new translation may be used. Use of the revised text requires preparation and catechesis for both priests and the faithful. When the time comes to use the texts in the celebration of the Mass, priests will be properly trained, the faithful will have an understanding and appreciation of what is being prayed, and musical settings for the liturgical texts will be readily available. 6. What will the process of implementation look like? Now that the recognitio has been granted, final preparation and publication of the Missal will commence. Catechesis on the new translation and on the Liturgy itself will become even more important. Training for priests, music ministers, and other liturgical leaders (liturgy committees and liturgical commissions), as well as formation for all Catholics, will help to ensure the successful implementation of the new text. 5

6 Monthly Stewardship Enrichment Collection There will be a 2 nd Collection EVERY FIRST SUNDAY of the month for the STEWARDSHIP ENRICH- MENT COLLECTION. This MONTHLY collection has been put into effect to help reduce the debt due to the Archdiocese. From September 2008 to present, the Parish has had difficulty in meeting its Operating Expenses and was, therefore, not able to pay any Archdiocesan bills: Catholicare (medical/dental coverage), Insurance (worker s comp, car insurance, property/liability), Priests and Lay Pension, Parish Assessment. This Stewardship Collection will be used to pay these past due bills. A green Monthly Stewardship Enrichment Collection envelope is included with your bi-monthly Sunday envelope mailing. For those who don t use envelopes, please find the Stewardship Enrichment Collection envelopes in the church vestibule. Thank you for your generosity! As in past years, we would like to celebrate together with a Three Day Festival and a Grand Procession in honor of our Patroness. If we walk in the light, we have fellowship with one another. I John 1:7 The Festival will take place the week-end before the Feast Day, July 22, 23, 24. The Procession will be July 24 th, after the 12 Noon Mass. In order to coordinate these celebratory events, we need the help of the entire Family of Saint Anne. Whether you served on previous Festival Committees or haven t yet made that commitment, we invite you to join us at a planning meeting Wednesday, April 6 th, at 7 PM in Centennial Hall It will be a wonderful opportunity to share your ideas, offer your help, meet a great group of dedicated members of our Parish.
