3 A Day of Reconciliation Monday, December 19 th Continuous in the Main Church 4:00 8:00 PM This will be a special day offered to all Catholics to have an additional opportunity to receive God s love and forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The first known nativity scene was created by St. Francis in 1223 to bring the Christmas story to life. In that time, many people couldn t read, so the only way to learn about the Bible was through oral stories and illustrations. 8 NOTICIAS DE NUESTRA PARROQUIA Ya vino el Niño Viajero a Mahopac: Procesión y Santa Misa del sábado, 10 de diciembre No obstante el frio invernal, más de 250 devotos del Niño Viajero participaron en la procesión anual por East Lake Boulevard y luego en la Santa Misa celebrada en el templo mayor por nuestro cura hispano, Padre Arthur Rojas. Luego de la Eucaristía, la comunidad ecuatoriana brindó un homenaje musical y cultural a nuestro párroco, Padre Philip Caruso, Padre Rojas y Padre Justice Osei-Fosu. Contamos con la presencia de Lcda. Linda Machuca, Cónsul General de la República del Ecuador, y don Jorge Merchán, Presidente del Comité Cívico Ecuatoriano de Westchester. Loores y flores a los señores priostes Manuel y Luz Arévalo por organizar los sucesos y felicitamos a los nuevos priostes Mario y Elsa Guaillazaca. Celebrando Ntra. Sra. de Guadalupe en el III Domingo de Adviento (Domingo de Gaudete ) Luego del éxito del Niño Viajero del 10 de diciembre, se manifestó de nuevo la solidaridad hispana con su colaboración de la devoción a la Virgen de Guadalupe del 11 y 12 de diciembre, respetando las normas y opciones litúrgicas del III Domingo de Adviento (Domingo de Gaudete, o sea Regocijad en latín). Con el calor del amor de Mamá Lupita, aproximadamente 170 personas asistieron a la procesión y luego a la Santa Misa cantada en la capilla por el Padre Rojas y un buen conjunto de mariachi. Luego hubo una linda convivencia en el sótano de la capilla. El lunes, 12 de diciembre, unas 45 personas se madrugaron para cantar y rezar las Mañanitas en la capilla. Gracias a la Sra. Tereza Díaz y sus colaboradores por todo su aporte y su ayuda al éxito del programa.
