Come join us on a day pilgrimage to Monastery, Saturday, May 19 to celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Grace. Price of $55.00 covers all expenses, including dinner. Holy Mass at 3:00 p.m. with Bishop Dunn. The pilgrimage bus will originate in Glace Bay with stops along the way. To arrange for a pick up point please phone Helen at (902) Mother s Day Memorials If you would like to put a memorial in for your mother please have her name in to Estelle no later than Wednesday, May 9th so they can go in the bulletin that weekend. Each memorial is $ High School Grads a time of quiet and reflection before final exams and grad activities. Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12. Camp Geddies, Merigomish. Open to high school grads in the Dioceses. (You don t have to be Catholic to come). Limited space so register early. The show is being hosted by Chislingo's and Kreative Design so we know there will be lots of great fashions to get you excited about dressing for the sunshine. The show will be held, the Sunday before Mother's Day, May 6th from 2-4pm at the Joan Harris Cruise Pavilion. A light lunch will be served. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Chislingo's, CB Curiosity Shop or by phoning Debbie at Hope Retreat and Healing Service please join Father Denis Phaneuf from Saskatchewan and Moira Noonan from San Diego who will lead you in a healing service and an uplifting weekend of Hope on June 1-3 at the Claymore Inn & Suites, Church St, Antigonish. The Food Bank has In Memory of Donation Cards or Special Occasion Cards for people who wish to make a donation to the food bank when someone has died or for anyone celebrating a special occasion such as an anniversary, wedding, birthday etc. All donations help support the food bank and are now available in the office. Sunday Morning Choir practice is every Wednesday after the 6:30 pm mass. The monthly meetings of the 4th Degree Knights of the Fr. William B. MacLeod Assembly are held on the last Sunday of each month at 2pm, Coady House, Sydney River with the exception of July, August and December. Fr. Patrick will be celebrating a Healing Mass on Monday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, at St. Joseph Church. Faith Formation sessions are every Sunday at 9:30 am. Hope to see you there. The next Pastoral Council Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 1:30 pm. The next Liturgy Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 11th at 1:30 pm. Regular KOC meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm. The next CWL Meeting will be held on Monday, May 14th at 7:00 pm.

3 We now have Memorial Cards for St. Vincent DePaul Society for people who wish to make a donation in memory of someone who has died. All proceeds from these cards help defray the cost of the many needs of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Thank you for your support. Meeting of Northside Council Soc. of St. Vincent de Paul is Wednesday, April 18 th, 2 p.m. St. Stephen s Community Hall, Pitt St., Florence. FREE INCOME TAX Free Income Tax Clinics: There will be free income tax clinics for seniors and low income people. They will be held every Wednesday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am weather permitting. They will be held at the North Sydney Pensioner s Club, rear Commercial Street. It will alternate on Wednesdays between Sydney Mines and North Sydney until the end of April. St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish is hosting weekend presentation and seminar on grief and bereavement on Friday April 20 th from 7-9 PM and Saturday April and 1-3PM This presentation will comprise of 3 sessions. You can participate in all 3 but each session stands on its own. This is open to everyone interested for any reason in dealing with grief and bereavement in a death denying society. More details next week. Anniversary Celebration Once again we will be honoring those couples celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. We are also welcoming any couples wanting to be a part of this celebration even if your anniversary is not a milestone anniversary. Call Estelle at the office, , if you would like to take part in this celebration. The celebration will be on Saturday, May 26. Names must be into the office by Friday, May 4th. HELP! HELP! HELP! Our Lady of Fatima CWL Annual Tulip Luncheon & Card Party: The CWL ladies of Our Lady of Fatima Parish are busy making plans for their Annual Tulip Luncheon & Card Party which will take place Wednesday, May 2, 2018.Lunch will be served at 12:30. It will be a wonderful day to see friends, enjoy a lovely lunch, play cards (game of your choice) and win great prizes. Tickets are $10.00 per person. Anyone wishing to reserve a table please contact Carmel or Casey The North Sydney Seventh Day Adventist Church Ladies will be hosting a " Pancake Breakfast " Sunday morning April 15th at 9:00 am in the church. On Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2pm in the Temple Sons of Israel, Whitney Avenue Sydney- author and son of two Holocaust survivors Allan Rosenfeld will speak to the annual Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Service. Mr. Rosenfeld will talk about his book, Holocaust Lumber which chronicles his early years working in the family lumberyard. Music will be performed by Leon Dubinsky and the Boularderie Lakeview Choir, memorial candles will be lit by members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service. Everyone welcome. 5 CWL Bye-Bye Winter Blues Basket Thank You Notice (Apr 14 th &15 th ) The winner of the CWL Bye-Bye Winter Blues Basket is Cheryl Keough, a worker at the Northside Guest Home congratulations. The CWL would like to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt Thank You to the generosity of our members and other individuals who contributed to the contents of our basket, and to all who helped sell tickets in our church and community, making our fundraiser a hit. CWL Bulletin Notice Re OLGC Mass, Apr 16 th,2018 Our CWL will celebrate the Feast Day of its Patron Saint, Our Lady of Good Counsel, on Monday, Apr 16 th with Mass at 6:30 pm. Prior to the conclusion of Mass, service award pins will be presented and new members will be officially welcomed into the league. After Mass, we invite all to join us downstairs and help celebrate this joyous event, with fellowship and light refreshments. St. Joseph Church Paving Parking Lots A very special Thank You to the parishioners for your contributions to pave the three parking lots. We have completed phase one which was the main parking lot. We will be painting the lines on the main parking lot in the spring when it is warmer. The total cost of the main parking lot was $ This bill has been paid in full. We hope to raise enough money to complete phase two next summer which are the parking lots on the Pierce Street side of the church and the small parking lot behind the church. The estimated cost of the two remaining parking lots are: Parking Area # 2 $ Parking Area # 3 $ Total $ HST $ $ We thank the parishioners who have generously responded to this project. Our hope is to pave parking lot 2 and 3 next summer depending on finances available. At the present time we have a total of $ in the bank to cover part of the cost of the remaining paving project. In order to pave the remaining parking lot this summer we will have to raise $ Envelopes are available at the back of the church on the tables and can be put in the regular collection on the weekends.
