News For Our Parishes Adult Formation RCIA The next session for RCIA is Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. Sessions are held at St. Joseph Church (lower level).

John the Evangelist Church offers adult Bible study every Monday in the Parish Center at 6:30 p.m. Catholics from all area parishes are welcome to attend.

Around the Diocese P -L M In recognition of the March for Life in Washington, DC, the Uniontown Knights of Columbus Council #1275 will sponsor a Mass for the Protection of the Unborn Child at St. John the Evangelist Church on Friday, January 18 th at 8:30 a.m. The Rosary will be prayed after Mass. Following the Rosary, a Pro-life Stand will be held at Five Corners in Uniontown. Today we celebrate another showing, later in time, to a group gathered at the Jordan River. John hesitated to baptize Jesus, whom he recognized as one mightier than I. But he did as Jesus asked, and the Holy Spirit descended and heaven s voice spoke to Jesus, You are my beloved Son. Jesus was beginning his public life of teaching and service. In today s second reading, he announces the heart of the message, peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. (note change of date). The Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary on Saturday, January 19 th at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come to Mass a little earlier to join us in this prayer. The parish is required by State Law and Diocesan Policy to have six clearance related certificates on file for all volunteers who are involved with parish ministries or activities. Pray When we are about to make an important or lifealtering decision we certainly pause to give it some thought.
